I’ve hiked across the Grand Canyon a few times in my life; helped lead some groups of people from one rim of the canyon to the other. Some were deathly afraid of heights, others were crazy scared to cross over the Colorado River on this bridge and others had never hiked that much mileage ever in their life! Do you know what helped each one of them get through it? Someone walking beside them, speaking truth and encouraging them that they were already doing it! One foot in front of the other and they had made it to their goal.
Friends, that’s what Coaching is; helping you put one foot in front of the other and eventually helping you reach your goal. You won’t be able to leap from one side of the canyon to the other, but you certainly can make it to the other side. One step at a time.

Hey, if you need some grace to get back on the horse, take it. Keep going! You got this!

"Authentic" was selected as the 2023 word of the year by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, landing among the most-looked-up words in the dictionary's 500,000 entries, the company said in a press release Monday.
What does this say about our culture and society at the moment? In a world where perfection is at our fingertips with the click of a few buttons, something real, unvarnished, honest and genuine is what we’re after.
How are you doing in living this out for yourself? What does being authentic mean to you?
May we all take pause just for a second and live into this word a little more as we close out the year!

Wondering what’s next? Trying to plan out the year and getting a bit overwhelmed? Try breaking it down into smaller chunks or seasons. The summer is not going to look like the fall. Things change, life happens. If you find yourself getting bogged down, try planning in smaller chunks. What does this next month hold? How would you like to show up? What’s important to you and make sure you get that written down and planned into your life!

Yesterday was Gramma June’s 90th birthday. She is an incredible woman. Lately she has begun talking in loops. Last night, sitting at her table, in a room filled with her children and grandchildren, I got to hear stories of her younger days, sometimes the same story repeated a time or two. The striking thing to me was what her loops expressed, “I’m just so blessed”, “I’ve had a really good life. There have been some ups and downs, but it’s been a really good life.” “My husband was a really good man, I wish you all could have known him.” If there were ever sayings to hear over and over again, these were wonderful ones to hear. I really hope we get to celebrate 91, and 92, and 93….
Also, she can still do the splits! (Last pic)
