HI I AM A strong, confident, healthy, happy woman, fiancé, daughter, & business woman, & I NEED TO WORK ON MY MENTAL HEALTH. hey wassup hello☺️
Mental heath IS NOTsomething to be embarrassed by. JUST like i talk about my physical healthy journey, i want to make mental health COOL😎 Because it is! It’s a journey. It’s essential. It is personal, it is individual, we all have strengths and weaknesses in it, and most of all, we all have TOOLS to improve it, if we look for it, and prioritize it!
For some reason, we have cultivated a society that hides weaknesses/struggles, in attempt to avoid embarrassment + judgment. 😞 So let’s talk about JUDGEMENT.
If judgement werent such a habit, we would feel more comfortable sharing our struggles+hardships. But, instead, we fear judgement so much, that we would rather deteriorate INSIDE, by holding something within us, than learn how to handle, approach, &grow from it. That’s the hard part about mental health. Admitting it, owning it, &working to improve it. i GET THAT. I get that because in a VERY real way, i dealt w/that. For years, i put off dealing w/ my mental health issues because i was told “you’re a smart girl, you don’t need a therapist” “you don’t have any real issues..just deal with it!” “you haven’t tried to kill yourself, so you’re fine” (YES, i was told exactly that by a military mental health practitioner. disgusting) And so, for years, i avoided judgement by avoiding the conversation. WHICH WAS NOT OKAY.
Today i’m going to ask you to do your part in ELIMINATING judgement from your daily habits. It won’t happen overnight, but the focus needs to be there.
How to eliminate judgment?? Let’s get SERIOUS. We all judge. It’s a habit, just like eating junk food. And it’s GOT TO GO. We do it mindlessly. So i’m asking you to CONSCIOUSLY recognize it. Everytime you JUDGE someone (think a negative thought, gossip, talk bad about someone etc..) form ANOTHER (positive habit) in its place (ie compliment someone, smile, focus on the positive) Tag someone who can hold you accountable in this...because it’s going to take effort. But i’m committed to being apart of the solution, &the improvement. Are you?
