My name is Amy. I was a teacher for 14 years, until 7 years ago when I retired. I’ve been tutoring since then. I have a BS in Elementary Classroom Teaching and then went on to get my Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum. I worked on the curriculum staff at my last school for 3 years. I’ve taught 1st - 6th grades, but more years in 3rd grade. I find tutoring very rewarding assisting children succeed in school. Working one-on-one with a child assists me in finding the childs needs, as well as their strengths. I prepare their lessons geared directly to their needs and add a little bit of information towards their strengths. Also, if a student has homework, then we work on that assignment first. I’m a certified teacher and tutor in grades K-6. I provide quality educational help in Math/English/Writing/Reading/Science/History and Cursive Writing. I help them learn skills on how to study, which is a benefit required for the rest of their educational journey. I have worked with students that have ADHD and learning disabilities, as well. With my past experience and qualifications, I have helped many children become successful. If given the chance I can help your child succeed, too. This is a challenging time being a student, so let me assist your child to become the best student possible through this critical time in their educational lives! I prefer to come to your home to tutor, where there are fewer distractions from the public. I look forward to hearing from you.
