👋WE NEED YOU!!!
🦈 Jenkins is excited to launch our Curious Sharks Student Clubs for a four-week fall session as part of our School Improvement Plan! Jenkins teachers talked with all of our K–5 students about topics they are curious about and would like to explore, and the club topics below reflect the interests the children shared.
We are looking for adult volunteers who are interested in serving as club advisors for one of the topics below. You do not need to be an expert, just willing to plan and lead fun, hands-on activities around the topic.
Jenkins needs 1–2 adult volunteers to lead each Curious Shark Club listed below. Here are the details:
As required by SPS, volunteer club advisors must be fingerprinted and have an up-to-date CORI form before clubs can begin.
Clubs are FREE for all Jenkins students.
Clubs will meet once a week for four weeks, October 26–November 20.
Clubs may meet on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays, either before school (8:00–8:40 a.m.) or after school (3:20–4:00 p.m.).
Advisors will plan the club activities and provide needed supplies. (Equipment for Coding Crew can be borrowed from the school.)
Each club will have a maximum of 10 students.
Clubs will meet in classrooms or other spaces at Jenkins.
Please fill out this CLUB ADVISOR INTEREST FORM by Wednesday, October 7, to express your interest in leading one of our Curious Shark Clubs (listed below). We will then contact you about the required fingerprints and CORI process.

Kindergarten and Grade 1

🏀 Game On! - Get moving and have fun playing games with friends! Learn and play a variety of playground, PE, and musical games while practicing teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Grades 2 and 3
👩🏻🔬Crazy Chemistry - Mix, fizz, bubble, and experiment! Explore chemistry through exciting hands-on experiments such as slime, volcanoes, invisible ink, and elephant toothpaste.
🌎 Around the World - Travel the world without leaving Jenkins! Explore different countries, cultures, languages, traditions, music, food, and more through fun activities and projects.
🦈 Shark Explorers - Discover all things sharks! Explore different shark species, their habitats, body parts, behaviors, diets, and amazing adaptations through fun activities and shark-themed crafts.
Grades 4 and 5
🍪No-Bake Cooking- Mix, measure, make, and taste! Learn basic kitchen skills while creating simple, kid-friendly no-bake recipes to enjoy and take home.
🧮 Math Mysteries - Become a math detective! Use math and problem-solving skills to solve mysteries, crack codes, tackle scavenger hunts, and complete escape-room-style challenges.
💻 Coding Crew - Explore the world of coding through fun, hands-on challenges! Learn to code, create, and problem-solve using technology and equipment available at Jenkins. (Equipment can be borrowed from the school)
