This is exactly why I would not except a diagnosis of Dementia or Alzheimer's without testing and evaluation by literate tick disease persons. Not necessarily a practicianers protocol yet.

If you’re grappling with persistent symptoms after completing treatment for Lyme disease, you’re not alone, and the reasons are both complex and addressable.
1. Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS) Is Real
Although some studies quote figures in the 10-20% range after a bite and treatment, scientific studies have shown that 30% (or more) of Lyme patients continue to experience fatigue, cognitive fog, pain, or neurological symptoms even after completing antibiotics.
This is recognized by institutions like the CDC and NIH and aligns with what we see clinically: many recover, but a significant minority remain symptomatic.
2. It’s Not Just Lyme—It’s Multi-Factorial
According to the MSIDS (Multiple Systemic Infectious Disease Syndrome) model I’ve outlined on The Medical Detective, chronic symptoms often stem from overlapping sources, not just persistent infection.
Co-infections (like Babesia or Bartonella), immune dysregulation, inflammation, environmental toxins, microbiome issues, leaky gut, hormonal dysregulation, sleep disorders, mitochondrial dysfunction, and/or genetic factors can all be at play.

It’s been a banner year for ticks, with emergency rooms across the United States seeing record numbers of people...
3. Lyme Persisters & Biofilms Are Challengers
Borrelia can form dormant ‘persister’ cells wrapped in biofilms, almost impossible for standard antibiotics to reach.
In my practice, we’ve seen success using Dapsone Combination Therapy (DDDCT/HDDCT) to target these hidden bacterial forms.
This protocol, including pulses of dapsone alongside biofilm disruptors and co-infection coverage, has brought long-lasting relief for many patients.
Traveling the Path Forward—Your Action Plan
Reassess:
Return to the MSIDS model to uncover overlapping triggers: co-infections, mold, detox issues, and immune dysfunction.
Precision Medicine: The Role of the MSIDS Model in Defining, Diagnosing,...
We present a precision medical perspective to assist in the definition, diagnosis, and management of Post Treatm...
Diagnostic Upgrade:
Seek advanced lab testing from trusted sources.
Targeted Treatment:
If persistent Lyme or Bartonella are suspected, consider guided DDDCT/HDDCT protocols.
Begin in consultation with a Lyme-literate provider.
Support & Restore:
Address damage from chronic inflammation (think gut, detox pathways, sleep, hormone balance, and mood support) alongside anti-inflammatory nutrition.
Community & Awareness:
You’re not alone.
New studies (like research from MIT and NIH) are validating what patients have long known: persistent Lyme is real and worth treating seriously.
Continued symptoms after Lyme treatment aren’t a failure; they’re a signal.
With the right diagnostic clarity, thoughtful protocols, and a functional medicine lens, healing is within reach.

Medical Gaslighting is a real thing. Even in smal non Lyme literate medical offices along with big supposed know all do all medical facilities. In order to get the trust back. The outdated medical INDUSTRY must scale back to learning, and action, istead of following the money.

I expect a global medical house of cards, to fall, before the medical industry accepts the truth of its failures, in the past 50-plus years, pertaining to Tick diseases profit-taking management, and puppet mastery. IN MY OPINION David R Thomas - Lyme and Tick Disease Advocate.
Here I am seeing a vision on my front yard. I see the alsike clover blossoms springing up like life depends on it. I also see something very disturbing. I don't see honey bees or any bees jumping from one blossom to the next. Which is crucial for the bee to produce their life's teaspoon of honey in their short few-week life cycle.
Here is the rub. The human species need bees also, and all the meat-producing animals we eat to pollinate all the plant food we survive with and supporting the food supply. Yes, we have other pollinators, but none that are as well needed as Bees.
Now here it comes. TICKS. Ticks have become my nemesis. One that has cost me and many that I know and love, their lives. BUT I have learned to control and preach the extermination of ticks on our properties and homes to protect our lives and families. This I find, is not working out. When I looked at my clover blossoms, I didn't see bees. I am concerned that we have taken these Permethrin treatments of just about everything to a detrimental threat to humanity. When I don't see bees, my broad view of just about everything overlaps in just about everything. Granted, Ticks and other bugs and critters are threatening our livelihoods. BUT bee colonies are collapsing in larger percentages each year. I read that when a bee is contaminated, one bee, goes back to the hive. Contaminated the hive. Kills the queen. The hive collapses.
When a bee travels 3 miles for its work. I suspect an overlap of territory, and that means, all bees are affected in some way by that one contaminated bee. I have friends who have experienced hive collapse. I don't know if this had anything to do with that. But as for property protection and future food sources are threatened by our very important learned habits in controlling Ticks. Humanity and everything else suffer. We have options. We need to learn those options. If you have treated your lawn already this year. Which I have not. My recipe for tick removal from now on will not include Permethrin or anything like it because we must do everything we can to preserve the bee colony. ( I understand that a good drenching of your lawn will help lessen the threat to bees. But I am not an expert.
