Join Epic Games’ Tom Shannon & James Hill to explore Unreal Engine 5 & how you can get started making awesome worlds and interactive experiences more easily than ever. Tom & James will show off some of Unreal Engine 5’s most amazing features such as Lumen & Nanite, then demonstrate how these features come together to create awesome experiences for players. You will also hear about how industries from film & television to automotive &, of course, video games are evolving & what the opportunities & key technologies you might want to focus on in the months & years to come!

Diana Diriwaechter, a SCAD alumnus, the Education Lead at Unreal Engine is an accomplished and award-winning artist working on over ten feature films, including such popular titles as Ice Age & Rio.

Thiago Carneiro is the Lead Unreal Engine Generalist for Virtual Production at Pixomondo & works as an Education Advisor representing Epic Games. In addition, Thiago works closely with some of Canada’s leading news and sports broadcasting companies to create virtual sets & interactive show pieces.

Tom Shannon is a Technical Artist & Program Manager at Epic. He specializes in Unreal Development kit, creates master guides for Unreal Engine, & has a huge arsenal of technical knowledge & experience.

James Hill, a SCAD alumnus & the newest Technical Artist, solves art-based problems using math to automate processes.

This Friday at 3:00p ET, join Professor Walter Woods as he presents a succinct tutorial on how to start a game project you will actually finish.

SCAD GamingFest is next week!
This year's festival includes representatives from Riot Games, Industrial Light & Magic, Hi-Rez Studios, Unreal Engine, Sony Interactive, and more.
Session topics include representation of BIPOC characters, virtual production, building the metaverse, adapting games from console to the big screen (plus a screening of the hit film, 'Uncharted', and TWO award recipients -- veteran voice over and film actor Keith David and screenwriter David Hayter.
