Julie Rose Wilde is a born romantic, relishing tales of her great-great grandmother, a stage singer in London and her great grandfather who was kidnapped as a child and brought to the U.S. He also was a landscapes artist, sign painter and a violin maker. Julie's grandfather was a producer of early vaudeville shows and her father was an untrained, but gifted singer and dancer. Her mother was a pian
o teacher and Julie spent her childhood in sultry Savannah, GA, studying classical piano, singing, dancing and staging backyard productions inspired by her imagination and her father’s collection of big band swing and Broadway cast albums. Julie majored in music (Piano and Voice emphasis) at GSU and graduated BMSM and MST with honors. After graduation Julie continued her vocal training with Liz Howard in LA, Jeanette LoVetri in New York, and Martina A. Catella in Paris. She has also attended The Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute of Shenandoah Conservatory, and is a Level III Somatic Voicework teacher. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers for Singing. She has sung in a variety of genres and bands and has taught music in numerous public and private schools and studio settings. She is the founder and operator of “The Wilde School Of Music” in Savannah, GA. A seasoned and eclectic recording artist, Julie has written, recorded and produced 4 albums of original music. Her most recent project, "The Bohemian Dream Cabaret" was recorded in Paris and includes world reknown gypsy jazz guitarist, Bireli Legrene, the late French violinist Didier Lockwood and legendary big band drummer Jeff Hamilton. Julie has directed music theater and performed lead roles with The Masquers at Georgia Southern University, City Lights Theater in Savannah, The Fancy Dog Theater Company at the Savannah Theater, and the Nexus Theater in Atlanta. She served on the executive board of the Atlanta Theater Coalition and as Assistant to the Producer for Theater of the Stars, staging touring Broadway shows at the Atlanta Civic Center.
Julie has studied ballet, jazz and modern dance at Georgia Southern University, and in Atlanta at Terpsichore, Decatur School of Ballet, Callonwolde Center for the Arts, The Studio in Buckhead, Georgia State University, and the Dancers’ Collective. She has performed with Room to Move Dancers and with Pat Floyd Dancers at venues including the Piedmont Arts Festival and Callonwolde Center for the Arts. In Savannah, she has studied and collaborated with Elizabeth Newkirk with whom she offers a "Dance for Musicians" class for students and singers in the Savannah area.
Julie has been a music educator for over 30 years, having taught private piano and voice, and directed numerous choral and stage productions in public and private schools. In her dual 20 year career, she was the lead designer for The Kessler Collection Hotels and her published work includes The Grand Bohemian Hotels in Orlando and Asheville, The Celebration Hotel, Casa Monica in St. Augustine and The Mansion on Forsyth Park. Julie currently operates her own private piano, voice and related arts studio, and is a coach for aspiring and professional singers of all ages.
