Juneteenth is not only a time of reflection but a celebration of freedom, perseverance, and the promise of a brighter future. As we honor this day, we recognize the power of community and the importance of creating opportunities so every young person can thrive. 🧡

All Clubs will be closed on June 19. We will resume normal operations on June 22.

Our new Innovation Game Room is bringing movement to a whole new level at the recently opened Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club on the Steven and Marjolaine Townsend Campus in North Port. With Exergame technology, Club members are staying active, building healthy habits, and discovering that exercise can feel a lot more like play.

At the Club, we work hard, stay curious, and build skills for the future. But we also believe it’s important to laugh and not take yourself too seriously.

Today in the art room, Club members mixed creativity with hands-on fun as they experimented, created giant bubbling masterpieces, and embraced the messy side of learning.

Some days at the Club are picture-perfect… and some are perfectly blue.

Exploring the world one sense at a time 👀👂👃👅✋

Club members put all five senses to work as they discovered how sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch help us understand the world around us. Through hands-on activities, members made observations, recorded their findings, and even created their own "Taste Bud Tongues" to explore salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and umami.

Learning is always a sign of good taste.

STEM + Hands-On Learning = Summer at the Club! ☀️

Club members designed and built canoes using only paper cups and popsicle sticks, and then tested how many pennies they could hold before sinking. The winning canoe carried an incredible 121 pennies!

From engineering and problem-solving to collaboration and creativity, members are building skills, making memories, and having fun all summer long at the Club.
