Meet Emily, SCF Biology student and Spring 2022 MarSci-LACE intern!💙
This semester Emily is working alongside Dr. Demian Chapman and Jack Morris on Shark and Ray Conservation Research. She is currently learning about the biology, ecology and conservation of sharks and their relatives. She has assisted with field work such as tagging sharks and is excited for more to come.

Meet Maggie, SCF Biology student and Spring 2022 MarSci-LACE intern! 💚
This semester Maggie is working on Manatee research alongside Dr. Beth Brady. She is learning how to use marine software to identify, measure, visualize and analyze sounds. Through her internship Maggie is currently learning how to fly drones with the plans to become remote pilot certified.

Even though summer has ended, Sofia is still monitoring nests that haven’t hatched yet, helping hatchlings make their way to the sea safely. Thanks for your hard work and dedication Sofia! These interns wrapped up their summer work with a fantastic poster session showcasing projects on sea turtle migration, red tide mitigation and cleanup, coral health and restoration.
