I was as shocked as you probably were when I heard about Dolly’s passing a few days ago. 🩷🕊️

Dolly Parton was an absolute icon. She was truly one of a kind.

Big voice. Big fashion. Big personality. And my personal favorite—a big heart.

Like most of you, I’ve read countless tributes and watched so many videos this week remembering Dolly and honoring her incredible legacy.

But the story that stood out to me most was not about her fashion, marriage, or music. It was about the Imagination Library—the incredible organization Dolly started that sends free books to children all over the world.

The beautiful truth is, this global movement began with a deeply personal family story.

Dolly’s dad left school at a very young age to work on the farm and help support his large family in East Tennessee. Even though Dolly described him as one of the smartest men she ever knew, his inability to read remained a lifelong burden for him.

Seeing her father struggle inspired Dolly to create the Imagination Library. She wanted to foster a lifelong love of reading in young children and ensure that every child had access to books, regardless of their family's income.

And that’s exactly what she did.

The month of August is always bittersweet for our daycare. We get to say goodbye to our friends who are ready for school and wish them the best of luck on their new adventure ❤️ What a privilege to work with families that become like family to us ❤️
P.S We can’t wait to add our bird house to our tree; such a sweet gesture 🥹❤️
