It was so fun to hear the MCs introduce us to the crowd! “A Santa Monica institution connecting all the communities of Los Angeles to Santa Monica” 🥹 And to sea so many former students and potential new family members was the perfect way to celebrate our quarter century serving Santa Monica and beyond. May we remember, on this 4th of July, that we are equals in the sea and the ocean connects us all.

A few from the last month. All local Santa Monica surf practices are now land surfing and cross training. We get in the water a few times a week down in Manhattan Beach, and we spent Sunday at the Huntington Cliffs putting in the time. The proper ocean currents in HB aren’t anything like what we get in Santa Monica Bay and, of course, the surf was nothing like what surfline projected (it was better). 😆

The gratitude for having the ability to pivot and temporarily relocate our surf practices while the ocean heals itself is such a gift. We don’t take it for granted.
