Psalm 23 - Color, Copy & Memorize, Cursive: Colorear, Copiar, & Memorizar (Writing Time Spanish) 06/24/2025

POLL TIME!

After having positive feedback about my first Writing Time Spanish books (print and cursive) for Psalm 23, I decided to create a series. My list is long 😂.

Which would you like to see next (both are outlined already)? Keep in mind, these books are to help learn Spanish. They include vocabulary pages, activities, and mini-lessons to promote learning and speaking Spanish.

1. Positive Affirmations A-Z (non-religious, but not contrary as I am a Christian)
2. Fruits of the Spirit

And so you don't have to look for them, here is Psalm 23.

2024 reinforced that the best language learning happens at the intersection of structure and creativity, whether teaching elementary students or pursuing my own language journey in Mandarin, German, and Japanese.

This year proved that systematic approaches combined with innovative methods create the most impactful learning experiences. From implementing new project management techniques in curriculum development to discovering how multiple learning platforms can complement each other, each step forward has enhanced both my teaching and personal growth.

Key developments in 2024:
• Obtained Google Foundations of Project Management certification
• Expanded Adelante! Spanish for All program reach
• Advanced Spanish grammar studies at local college
• Developed comprehensive approach to Mandarin learning through multiple platforms
• Integrated project management principles into curriculum design

Most meaningful moments from this year:

"Google Project Management Certification"
Adding structured approaches to educational program development

"Language Learning Journey"
Finding balance in systematic language acquisition through diverse platforms

My daily routine now includes structured learning (Yoyo Chinese, Mandarin Blueprint, Skritter) balanced with creative immersion (live classes, cultural studies, lots of Cdramas!). This combination has proven invaluable both for my personal growth and for developing more effective teaching methods.

Looking ahead: 2025 will focus on expanding language learning opportunities through structured yet creative approaches, while applying new project management skills to educational initiatives. The goal remains clear - making language learning accessible, enjoyable, and effective for both students and educators.

To every educator balancing teaching with continuous learning: your dedication to growth enriches every lesson you teach. The structure supports us, but the creativity transforms us.

'Twas the noche before Christmas and all through the casa,
Not a creature was stirring-Caramba! Que pasa?

Los ninos were tucked away in their camas,
Some in long underwear, some in pajamas,
While hanging the stockings with mucho cuidado
In hopes that old Santa would feel obligado
To bring all children, both buenos and malos,
A nice batch of dulces and other regalos.

Outside in the yard there arose such a grito
That I jumped to my feet like a frightened cabrito.
I ran to the window and looked out afuera,
And who in the world do you think that it era?

Saint Nick in a sleigh and a big red sombrero
Came dashing along like a crazy bombero.
And pulling his sleigh instead of venados
Were eight little burros approaching volados.

I watched as they came and this quaint little hombre
Was shouting and whistling and calling by nombre:
"Ay Pancho, ay Pepe, ay Cuco, ay Beto,
Ay Chato, ay Chopo, Macuco, y Nieto!"

Then standing upright with his hands on his pecho
He flew to the top of our very own techo.
With his round little belly like a bowl of jalea,
He struggled to squeeze down our old chiminea,
Then huffing and puffing at last in our sala,
With soot smeared all over his red suit de gala,
He filled all the stockings with lovely regalos-
For none of the ninos had been very malos.

Then chuckling aloud, seeming very contento,
He turned like a flash and was gone like the viento.
And I heard him exclaim, and this is verdad,
"Merry Christmas to All, and Feliz Navidad!"

I have been more consistent with my Mandarin learning lately and came across this website - LTL Language School Flexi Classes. They offer live classes Mandarin (traditional and simplified), Taiwanese, Shanghainese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Italian and Spanish.

So, now my daily (or few-times-weekly) routine includes Yoyo Chinese (conversation, listening, reading), Mandarin Blueprint (pronunciation, characters), and Skritter (characters). I'm getting a live class with Flexi a couple of times a month for now. The classes are mostly immersion. Since they are still growing their platform, many group classes turn out to be solo.

Since, apparently, I'm not busy enough, I'm taking a class at the local college in advanced Spanish grammar. Even though I've been speaking it for over half my life, I felt some gaps needed to be explicitly explained, and it wasn't happening sufficiently on my own. I'm informally studying some Chinese culture on Coursera, like Chinese medicine, and jump on Duolingo for my daily German fix, and several-times-weekly fix of Japanese and other languages.

Because I'm not busy enough as an elementary school teacher...
