The New Mexico School for the Deaf is looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our Grounds Maintenance Team! Under the direction of the Facilities Manager/Lead Groundskeeper, this role helps keep our campus safe, clean, and beautiful year-round.

✨ What You’ll Do:
~Maintain and care for campus grounds (mowing, trimming, watering, planting, pruning, fertilizing)
~Keep walkways and driveways safe during snow/ice conditions (shoveling, sanding, salting)
~Set up for school events (tables, chairs, tents)
~Ensure playgrounds and outdoor areas are clean and safe
~Support recycling, rodent control, and general upkeep of outdoor areas

💰 Pay Range:
~Grounds Maintenance 1: $17.17–$27.62/hour
~Grounds Maintenance 2: $18.39–$29.58/hour
(New employees hired up to midpoint, depending on qualifications and experience)

📋 Qualifications:
~High school diploma or equivalent
~Valid NM driver’s license
~Grounds 1: Entry-level, 1 year of experience preferred
~Grounds 2: Skilled-level, 3+ years of experience or specialization (irrigation systems, equipment repairs, landscaping) preferred

The New Mexico School for the Deaf is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Facilities Team! Under the direction of the Facilities Manager/Lead Maintenance Worker, this role performs a variety of maintenance and grounds tasks to keep our campus safe, clean, and welcoming.

🔨 Essential Duties:
~Perform general building maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, welding, etc.)
~Support groundskeeping and landscaping (mowing, trimming, planting, snow removal, pest control)
~Assist with furniture setup, repairs, and event preparations
~Ensure campus safety and upkeep in all seasons

💰 Pay Range:
~Maintenance 1: $17.17–$27.62/hour
~Maintenance 2: $19.70–$31.69/hour
(New employees hired only up to midpoint depending on qualifications/experience)

📋 Qualifications:
~High school diploma or equivalent required
~Valid NM driver’s license
~Maintenance 1: Entry-level, 1 year experience preferred
~Maintenance 2: Skilled level, 3+ years experience preferred or specialization in trades
