Congratulations to EMT Academy Class #132 on a job well done. History was made yesterday when our largest graduating class of 48 EMT Trainees completed 234 hours of rigorous training along with Capstone cognitive and skills testing. Each is now equipped and ready to take the National Registry exam and then apply for their state EMT certification. Many will be working in the field within the next 30 days.

Prepare now by ensuring you meet the minimum requirements:

🔥Valid CA Class C Driver’s License
🔥Must be 18 years of age
🔥Graduation from high school or equivalent
🔥Current and valid CPAT
🔥Current and valid, non-probationary EMT certification issued by an approved CA certifying agency or an EMT certification issued by the NREMT

Congratulations to Firefighter Kennya Ramos on graduating from Montebello Fire Department Tower 26 today. Kennya completed her EMT & Firefighter 1+2 training here at Rio Hondo College recently. She excelled in training while at RHC and won several awards. She was also the valedictorian of MFD Tower 26. Kennya has worked very hard to get to where she is today. Her journey is testament that if you put your mind to it and work hard, you will achieve your goals. EMT Class #129 graduated on May 16, 2026. These graduates worked hard for sixteen weeks while many were working full-time jobs. Congratulations to each of you.

All it takes is completing EMT 100 which is a required prerequisite EMR class first, then you can register into EMT 110 which is our EMT Acadmey.

Thinking about becoming an EMT? Rio Hondo College is the place. Registration is open for Fall 2026. We have a prerequisite class you must take first (EMT 100). Once you pass this class with an A or B, you can enroll in EMT 110, which is our EMT Acadmey. In 2026, we currently have a 100% pass rate at the NREMT Exam. Why is this important?
