🌱 We're building a California Map of Local Initiatives — and we need YOUR help.
In partnership with Local Futures, the UCSC Right Livelihood program is documenting community projects across California that are strengthening local economies, food systems, culture, and resilience.
We're calling on farmers, food co-ops, land trusts, community energy groups, cultural orgs, and anyone working toward a more rooted, local future to share their work.
✅ Submit your project at rightlivelihood.ucsc.edu/localize
📅 Featured projects will be highlighted on World Localization Day — June 21, 2026
Know a group doing this work? Tag them below or share this post. Every submission makes the map richer. 🗺️

TODAY: Join the Right Livelihood Core Team with food, thought, and organizing.
This is a smaller event to end off the quarter, but we feel it important to continue providing a space for students to organize together in horizontal trajectories.

Educate! Agitate! Strategize! Organize!
Join us at the Winter 2026 C.O.W as we workshop inclusively to issues that YOU want to strategize. A nice dinner will be supplied by Pretty Good Advice as we look for ways the student community can continue to rise up in solidarity with humanity. RSVP in bio.
On SuperBowl weekend, students part of the Right Livelihood Student Club and other communities organized a successful local rally against ICE operations, showing solidarity with Americans and the global consciousness against current agendas of militarism, capitalism, and imperialism. We are not done!
It’s time to come back to the table to see where we want to take this momentum next – we have moooovement (foreshadowing cow image for those who RSVP ;) )
This is more than a space to discuss anti-ICE tactics, but a workshop where you can pick whatever issue you care about to plan a campaign on.
Please forward this message to students who may be interested.

Change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people who care show up together.
On Monday, Feb 9 | 6–8 PM | Oakes Mural Room, student organizers and activists across UCSC are gathering for a Student Activism Networking Event
This is a space to meet, learn from historical organizing frameworks, and connect across movements shaping our campus and world.
If you’re organizing, advocating, or asking how students build collective power, this room is for you.
👉 RSVP via the QR code
👉 Bring two other student organizers with you
The strength of this gathering depends on who shows up. Let’s make the room count!
