DREAMer DOCS offers two short documentaries that tell deeply personal stories about what it’s like to come of age in America while undocumented – before, during and after DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Creative, entertaining, and moving, and NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE STREAMING, I WAS BORN IN MEXICO, BUT… and VIDA DIFERIDA (LIFE, DEFERRED) bear witness to the everyday battles of two young women growing up amidst the ever-changing landscape of U.S. Through their stories, we get insight into what life was like before DACA, the change that DACA brought, and the urgency of passing legislation that would finally give this generation a chance to be free. A powerful tool for educators and communities interested in gaining a deeper understanding and starting conversations about immigration reform and for anyone working with undocumented youth.
