Shawn joined IVTP her first-year and is graduating with a B.A in Communication, and received the Dean’s Honor Award for Best Sustainably Dressed among graduating seniors.

“I joined IVTP my freshman year because, while I had already found some great friends, I was looking for a community of people who shared my passion for sustainability and secondhand fashion. IVTP quickly became my favorite escape from the dorms, and from my very first meetings, the older members made me feel so welcomed and supported. As I became more involved, I wanted to create that same feeling for new members and help grow the organization into something even bigger. IVTP is such a special group of people from all different majors and backgrounds who come together to make a real impact, and there truly is nothing else like it at UCSB.

As I graduate, I’m incredibly grateful for everything IVTP has given me… the friendships, memories, opportunities, and sense of community that shaped my college experience. Serving as president has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done, and I’m so proud of how much this organization has grown. While it’s hard to say goodbye, I’m excited to pass IVTP on to this amazing group of people, who I know will continue to do so much good for our community and take the organization to places we never imagined”🥹💕

Chloe joined IVTP her second-year and graduating with a B.S. in Statistics and Data Science!

“I have too many good memories from IVTP to pick a favorite but this year definitely has a special place in my heart.🩷

I loooved working the IVTP fashion show this year, especially watching my friends walk the catwalk, listening to live music and manning the block printing stand to upcycle everybody’s new pieces they picked out at the nearby 3-for-free (shoutout Iris and Carly for making such awesome stamps!!!) It was such a fun and creative way to give old clothes another chance and I loved chatting with everybody who dropped by😁

I love IVTP because it’s equally a sustainability club as it is a fashion one! Everybody has different styles and approaches to expressing themselves, but we’re all one big unit doing our part in recirculating fashion through our tiny little college town😛👙🐚🏖️

After college I’m moving back to San Francisco and applying to grad school” 🤸🏻‍♀️

Erica joined IVTP in her second-year and is graduating with a B.A. in Sociology and a B.S. in Statistics and Data Science!

“I joined IVTP because I went to a three for free sophomore year and was so excited to get free clothes because i’ve always been obsessed with thrifting and recirculating clothes- so after when I looked into the club and also saw how awesome the community seemed I knew I needed to join.

What I’ll miss most about IVTP is how dedicated everyone is at what they do but it’s also a super chill environment. Also, of course, all the free clothes.

After graduating I am going to China for a while to research their cities then going to apply to grad school for urban planning.” 🤩🌱
