TRIAD 2026 launched last week! 🎉
Take a peek at what one of our local classes has been up to: in "What’s Cookin’?" students explore the culinary riches of the world. Last week, students tasted olive oils with Mrs. Lucera, learned how to run a restaurant with Mr. Briner at , and whipped up fresh pasta and pizza with Mr. Meadth and Señora Bentley. This two-week cooking course culminates in an incredible final project where students will use their new skills to cater a live event!
An Upper School (grades 9-12) exclusive program, TRIAD is an in-depth exploration of student and faculty interests designed to actively engage students in classes that promote collaboration and curiosity.
Students participate in courses both locally and far away - This year, our travel teams are exploring the history of Hawaii or walking in Steinbeck’s footsteps in Monterey. ✈️
Meanwhile, our local classes dive into everything from Fishing and Shark Tank to Serve Santa Barbara and Build Your Ride.
Stay tuned for more glimpses into what our TRIAD students are up to!

"We’re sleeping in coffins?" 😳
That was the reaction of one fifth grader upon seeing the narrow "coffin beds" aboard the U.S.S. Iowa. With mere inches of headroom and a creaking ship echoing through the night, the experience renewed a deep awareness of the staggering, everyday discomforts borne by the generations who protected our freedom.
From the cold steel of a WWII battleship to the chilly tents of a Revolutionary War camp at Riley’s Farm, this year’s Beyond-the-Classroom U.S. History Tour taught these fifth graders a vital lesson: learning isn't always cuddling up with a good book, or looking at artifacts behind a sheet of glass.
As Riley Farm's "Patrick Henry" advised the students, the story of our country is an unfinished manuscript, and they are the next caretakers trusted to protect its principles with wisdom and integrity.
This Memorial Day, as we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, it is inspiring to see the next generation leaning forward into the inheritance they’ve been entrusted to protect. 🇺🇸✨

4th grade returned from their Beyond the Classroom trip to San Francisco, Sacramento, and Monterey! In 4th grade, students study California history; this adventure gives them a chance to walk where history happened, explore the state capital, and visit coastal landmarks. This year included a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, an overnight off Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, and panning for gold. We especially love that this trip is led by Tirzah Riley, our beloved former head of Santa Barbara Christian School.

On our final Grandparents & Grand Pals Day, Middle and Upper School students welcomed their loved ones to campus. Together, we connected over coffee before gathering for chapel. Worship concluded with a special sneak peek of Little Mermaid, Jr. After visiting classrooms, guests heard from Lily (Grade 11), who offered a touching reflection on her own grandparents.

Lower School Grandparents and Pals visited classrooms with their students and got to experience life as a Lower School student at Providence. In some of the classrooms student led engaging interviews. Guests shared stories from their childhoods, talked about their favorite pastimes, and offered heartfelt advice for the journey ahead. In other classes students completed art projects with their guests!

Every year, Grandparents & Grand Pals Day is one of our favorite events across both campuses! Preschool began their day with song and praise before leading their guests through crafts, story time, snack, and the photo booth (thank you !)
