The UCSB Gaucho Game Lab is looking for 3D video game artists to help model the characters/world for the game in our advanced game dev class.

The game is a multiplayer co-op game where a team of heroes battles evil monsters on an island. Currently we have 8 engineers working on everything from the character controllers to the amazing enemy AI to sophisticated day/night systems, but we need help with the art side of things. The actual artistic style has not yet been decided (depends on the artists working on the project), but it could stylized (e.g., cel-shaded or low-poly) or hand-painted.

We're looking for self-motivated, talented artists who are looking to work on a "real" game project that is publicly released (the plan is to release this game on Steam). In this project, you'd report directly to the Art Director and work with the various leads to make sure that your characters/props/scenery assets are integrated into the game. Good communication is key!

This is a volunteer (not for pay) position, but we will give you credit on the project that you can use to build up your game-dev resume.

If interested, please message us or email the Director of the UCSB Gaucho Game Lab Professor Pradeep Sen ([email protected]) with your portfolio.

Thank you very much!
