Becoming Miss America means becoming a role model for others. As Miss Dunn, I take this journey seriously...I talk the talk but I also walk the walk on nutrition and fitness. Teaching children fun and exciting ways to get healthy with my 4 S.T.E.P.s: Study up on good health, Train your body, Eat nutritiously and Pause to sleep 8-10 hours is my passion!

According to a recent Obesity Action Coalition survey of overweight sixth graders, 24 percent of the boys and 30 percent of the girls experienced daily teasing, bullying or rejection because of their size. The number doubles for overweight high school students with 58 percent of boys and 63 percent of girls experiencing daily teasing, bullying or rejection because of their size!
How heartbreaking! We need to put an end to BULLYING, for sure, but we also need to teach children that nutrition and fitness are the key to long liife, good health and positive body image!

I was very excited to hear that participants of my F.U.N. Clinic were using the materials provided...especially the bracelet that symbolizes the 4 steps: Study about good health, Train your body, Eat nutritiously, Pause and sleep 8-10 hours! Collin here is wearing his bracelet after a healthy meal. He slips on his night mask to make sure he gets a good night's rest! Collin is on his way to winning a prize!
Collin is fast asleep after his exercise and healthy dinner! Thanks for his bracelet to help him remember! 8-10 hrs. Every night!

Here are some healthy food options with hummus!
Option 1: Top a multi-grain bagel with hummus and a sliced tomato.
Option 2: Make a wrap with a whole-wheat tortilla, hummus, sliced cucumber, and crumbled feta.
Option 3: Serve radishes and cauliflower with hummus for dipping.
Any of these three options are super easy and also nutritious! Keep your child healthy by trying these snacks after school and then going outside to play or maybe even walking the dog!
