These students just took a huge step forward, and we couldn’t be more proud!
Entrada Adult High School recently celebrated our first College Bridge cohort in partnership with Western Governors University (WGU). Gabrielle, Serenity, Brianna, and Melissa successfully completed their first college course: Program for Academic and Career Advancement (PACA).
This is exactly what opportunity looks like, students earning real college credit while still working toward their high school diploma and building confidence for what comes next.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, commitment, and willingness to take on something new.
A big thank you to our partners at WGU for believing in this work and collaborating with us to create real pathways for our students. And a special thank you to our outstanding WGU instructors, Angela and Corinne, for supporting and guiding this first cohort to success.
This is just the beginning.

We’ve got something special ready for our students this week ❤️
Our table is stocked with backpacks full of food to help support students and families over Spring Break.
If you’re a Canyons student:
🎒 Grab a backpack (or two!)
👨👩👧 Take an extra if you have brothers or sisters at home
💛 No cost—these are completely FREE
We want to make sure everyone has what they need during the break. Please don’t hesitate to take one.
A big thank you to everyone who helps make this possible—we’re grateful for a community that takes care of each other. The Canyons Education Foundation provided the backpacks and food and many volunteers did the work of putting it all together.

We are proud to celebrate an incredible educator and an even more incredible human.
Elizabeth “Izzy” Gustafson has been selected by both students and staff as Entrada Adult High School’s Teacher of the Year.
At Entrada, our students come to us with powerful stories—many shaped by challenges far beyond the classroom. In this environment, teaching is about more than content. It’s about connection, belief, and creating a space where students can begin to see themselves differently. Izzy embodies all of this.
Her classroom is engaging, purposeful, and full of energy—but what truly sets her apart is how she makes students feel: safe, valued, and capable. She meets students where they are while holding high expectations, helping them rediscover confidence and believe in their ability to succeed.
Our students say it best:
💬 “Coach G really connects with you… it never seems to be a bad class day.”
💬 “She inspired me and made me happy to be here.”
💬 “The most understanding teacher I’ve ever met.”
💬 “She’s super enthusiastic, and that helped me learn so much.”
Izzy’s impact is seen in students who keep showing up, who push through challenges, and who begin to believe in themselves again.
Izzy, thank you for your heart, your dedication, and the extraordinary way you serve our students and community. We are better because of you.
👏 Congratulations, Entrada’s Teacher of the Year!

Some stories remind us what strength, courage, and determination truly look like—and Joy Moore is one of those stories. ❤️
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Joy as a recipient of the Canyons Strong Scholarship. Recognized last week and honored again this Thursday at the Canyons Strong event, Joy represents what it means to rise above life’s challenges with resilience and purpose.
This scholarship is awarded to seniors who have faced difficult circumstances—whether in their family, finances, academics, or personal lives—and still choose to keep going, to keep striving, and to keep believing in a better future. Joy has done exactly that, and her journey is an inspiration to all of us.
Moments like this are made possible because of the Canyons Education Foundation, the dedicated Board of Directors who selected Joy, and the unwavering leadership of Foundation Director Denise Haycock. Their work opens doors, changes lives, and reminds our students that they are seen, valued, and supported.
If Joy’s story moves you, we invite you to be part of that impact. Your donation helps lift up students who are working hard to overcome obstacles and build brighter futures.
💙 Support students like Joy here: https://foundation.canyonsdistrict.org/donate/
Joy, we are so proud of you—and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish next.

Today was more than just the first day of our Citizenship Class at Entrada Adult High School—it was the beginning of something deeply meaningful 🇺🇸
In this classroom, you can feel it… hope, courage, and the quiet determination of people chasing the American Dream. Each student carries a story. They are stories of sacrifice, resilience, and the belief that something better is possible. Today, our students took another brave step forward on their journey to becoming United States citizens.
We are especially grateful for Rachel, whose heart and dedication are guiding this class. She’s not just teaching content; she’s helping open doors, build confidence, and change lives.
It’s an honor to witness these moments. To see individuals show up, work hard, and believe in a future they are creating for themselves and their families.
This is what adult education is all about. This is what the American Dream looks like.
And we couldn’t be more proud. ❤️
