Here is a fascinating example of how the left and right sides of the brain collaborate. When a young child experiences difficulties with language development in the left hemisphere, the right hemisphere steps in to compensate. By providing intervention and focusing on strengthening the child's language skills, the weak areas in the left hemisphere are strengthened, allowing the child to utilize the left side of the brain as intended.

Recent studies have challenged the previous notion of the brain being divided into separate left and right sides that work independently for different tasks. Instead, it has been found that both sides of the brain collaborate for most activities, with one side compensating for the other if it is weaker. For instance, if someone struggles with language development, the right side of their brain will step in to make up for it.
