Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We are excited to announce that we are initiating Salt Lake City’s first adaptive table tennis program! We hope to provide the adaptive community an opportunity to learn and play ping pong. This sport is a great means to learn hand-eye coordination and friendly competition skills in a safe and accessible environment. It is an activity enjoyable by both adaptive and able-bodied participants, providing a unique bonding opportunity for all members of families and friend groups. We aim to bring Salt Lake City’s adaptive population access to these one-of-a-kind gains.
We feel it is important to support this program because both of us have enjoyed playing table tennis with someone in a wheelchair. We find it is an amazing and fun way to connect with those that are handicapped. This is a unique opportunity because the game of ping pong is a completely level playing field for the able-bodied and adaptive to spend quality time together and get active. We want to share this experience with the community of Salt Lake City.
We will be partnering with Neuroworx, a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center, that will provide a facility in which we will hold the weekly classes. Our program is in conjunction with the Neuroworx wellness program.
Currently, we are lacking in funding to purchase the materials needed to jumpstart the program. We are hoping to find access to ping pong tables, balls, and paddles to begin play. We are asking you to consider any sort of donation to procure this equipment. Furthermore, we would love to use any old or used ping pong equipment you may have. We are willing to come pick up any materials to transport to our facility; we are more than happy to work with you in any way possible to make this donation possible. Our current goal is to raise $2,000 which will help us to buy 170 balls, 12 paddles, and 3 tables.
If you are able to make a donation of any sort, we would encourage you to do so by:
Contributing electronically to our fundraising campaign at (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/adaptive-ping-pong-program/x/12033446 #/)
Calling Neuroworx (801)-619-3670 and donating via credit transaction.
Making a check out to Neuroworx, memo for their adaptive sports program.
Our fund is a 305-c tax deductible campaign.
All proceeds raised will go directly to support the program and players. Our campaign ends on October 30th so please donate soon! Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We are happy to discuss this exciting new program with you!
Best Wishes,

Claire and Greg
