There is a lot of misinformation and confusion out there about the Arizona ESA program (basically a form of school choice initiative). Anyone is eligible although when it started it was specifically for students with disabilities (so the claim that it discriminates against students with disabilities is especially ill informed). Parent's cannot just spend the money on whatever they want, they don't even receive the money directly as cash but into a special account specifically for it. People will claim it takes money away from public schools, but this isn't true, as everything is done on a per student basis, that's also how funding for public schools is determined as well.
