San Marcos CISD Career & Technical Education

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of the 2025–26 Youth Leadership San Marcos cohort, featuring 15 outstanding high school students from San Marcos CISD and San Marcos Academy. Thank you to Texas State STAR Park for hosting us for this celebration!

Over the past 7 months, the students explored key industries across our community, from local government and public safety to business, healthcare, tourism, and media, gaining real-world insight, leadership skills, and meaningful connections along the way.

At this graduation luncheon, Ted Groholske with Hays Caldwell Economic Development Partnership shared valuable insights on leadership. Students also reflected on their experiences as they received certificates and had professional headshots taken.

Through programs like Youth Leadership San Marcos, the Chamber is committed to developing a strong local talent pipeline, connecting students to career opportunities, and inspiring the next generation to live, work, and lead in this area!

SMHS students in the SM Youth Leadership program are spending the day at Texas State learning about Media & Technology, including working at the Live Oak studio with college students and professors.

Our JROTC students took the initiative to help keep our campus clean and beautiful. Through teamwork and dedication, they demonstrated responsibility, collaboration, and Rattler Pride.

Opportunities like these reflect the values of discipline, leadership, and community contribution that JROTC instills in our students. We are proud of our cadets for their continued commitment to making a positive impact on our school environment.
