Recap of Day 2 at the 98th Annual Texas FFA State Convention was a full day of leadership, learning, and making memories! 💙💛
Our chapter officers started the day bright and early as our voting delegates represented our chapter during the Business Session. Alongside thousands of FFA members from across the state, they participated in by voting on the proposed Texas FFA budget for the upcoming year, selecting Texas FFA’s National Officer Candidate, and voting on a constitutional amendment.
During the 1st General Session, our members experienced the excitement of convention as they listened to inspiring retiring addresses from state officers and heard an incredible keynote message from Courtney DeHoff. Her message focused on the Cowboy Code, never giving up on your dreams, choosing to be extraordinary, and living your life with purpose and impact. Her words were a great reminder of the importance of character, perseverance, and making a difference in the lives of others. 🤠
After lunch, our voting delegates continued their important role in the 2nd General Session by casting their votes in the 26-27 Texas FFA State Officer Elections after hearing speeches and thought-provoking answers from the 12 incoming state officer candidates.
Between sessions, our members explored the expo hall, connected with universities, learned about new opportunities, and enjoyed a little shopping! 🛍️ Additionally, our officers donated to the State Convention Community Service Drive, the Cowtown C.A.L.F., which helps identify low income students who need a new pair of tennis shoes and socks to promote a lifetime love for fitness.
The evening was all about strengthening our officer team and creating memories together. We wrapped up the day with a fun hibachi dinner, Crumbl Cookie treats, and a little retail therapy. From leadership opportunities to laughter and team bonding, this trip continues to be an incredible experience for our officers.
We are proud of the way our officers are representing our chapter and growing as leaders!
