I attended the Grand Re-Opening of the San Lorenzo Community Center (Tot Town or Duck Pond to some) this afternoon. This was Stage 3 of the park remodel and while it has hints of the previous building, it has some added square footage, glass walls, and upgraded HVAC and Technology. The main hall will seat 160, so perfect for a reunion opportunity. I just took a few pictures today.

I'm so sorry, but more sad news. The husband of Rhonda Colyer, Dave Suhr, passed away this morning. Dave & Rhonda moved to Meridian, ID a few years ago to be closer to their youngest daughter Casey, and grandchildren Hank & Hanna. I've known Rhonda since kindergarten (Bay School) and met Dave at church camp (Community of the Great Commission) back when we were 17. We used to do a lot of camping together. First at the Manteca Waterslides, then at Camp Richardson, South Lake Tahoe, along with other one-off trips. Dave was in the Navy and then worked in IT at Chabot JC. If you know Rhonda, please keep her in your prayers, along with Cari, Casey, and many other family members. Rest in eternal peace Dave.

Class of '71 posted that our friend Judy Donnelly Guidry passed away earlier this week. She worked with the reunion committee on our reunion at Beeb's in Livermore.

She was not a member of our class, but she was close to many. Personally, she and I lived across the street from each other. I broke my arm, roller skating, in her garage. She met her husband-to-be at my wedding. I'm going to miss her!

It's with great sadness that I share the news that Roger Weston has passed away. Terri Bufkin Stowers let me know of a post by Roger's daughter Kelly Real. No details.

I was very fortunate to run into him at the Bistro in Hayward back in 1998 and we spent many hours sitting together listening to Bruce Collett and his brother Dave play in one of their bands, until he moved to Blue Lake. We stayed close through FB and chatted often about our favorite bay area sports teams, amongst other things. Smart, kind, generous, artistic. He is definitely going to be missed!

Please keep JoAnne Rodrigues Revelli in your prayers. Her husband Mike passed away last night. You may remember him from our reunions as he was very supportive in making them happen. Seen here with JoAnne, talking to Ed Branco. God bless! πŸ’”πŸ™πŸ»

It is with great sadness that we share that Sharon Berger Kinkade passed away earlier this week. She fought lymphoma (blood cancer) for many, many years. Several treatments and a stem cell transplant done, only to recuperate and then a new diagnosis. Randy, their son Josh and his wife, and Sharon's sister Sandy are devastated. Plans for a service will come when the weather warms up a bit. There is more info on Sharon's FB page, written by her son Josh, along with a post from Marcy Kennedy Coulter.

Rest in eternal peace Sharon. You'll be missed! πŸ’”πŸ˜’πŸ™

Yesterday, Ed Branco let us know that Gary Whitley passed away. And today, Kaye Gerlach Caisse let me know that Patti Fitzgerald passed away a few weeks ago. Condolences to both families. πŸ™πŸΌ

Just got word tonight that Phil Bigelow has passed away. His younger brother contacted me via Messenger. You can see the post Dana left on Phil's FB page, Brian Bigelow. At our 50 year reunion, Phil had a fall and he never fully recovered from it. He was ill and the last three years had been hard on him. I hope he rests in peace now.

It was a GREAT day for a picnic this afternoon! Sorry you missed it!

Our class reunited about 25 classmates for an afternoon of sunshine, fresh air, and chit-chat.

Here are a few pictures from our day at the Duck Pond (Tot Town, San Lorenzo Community Center) at the end of Via Buena Vista or Via Catherine, depending on the entrance taken.

The parking situation was not ideal, as there were softball and soccer tournaments everywhere, but we managed to wrangle our tables back and carve out some space. What a fun day!
