What we've got here is not merely a failure to communicate (name that movie!), but a kakistocracy. If that's all Greek to you, you are correct:
Word Origin and History for kakistocracy
n.
1829, "government by the worst element of a society," coined on analogy of its opposite, aristocracy, from Greek kakistos "worst," superlative of kakos "bad" (which perhaps is related to the general IE word for "defecate;" see caco- ) + -cracy.

So very happy and excited that the book I've worked on the past two years has finally come out! Roots and Offshoots: Silicon Valley's Arts Community is a behind-the-scenes look at how our arts scene REALLY evolved, with profiles of the O.G. artist/activists who opened doors for us all … now available through the righteous bookstore Bolerium Books: https://goo.gl/0U0br1

"The ability to represent the indefinite is one of the great achievements of modern mathematics and media, and clouds were at the vanguard here too. If you want to understand how meaning works, you have to understand vagueness, and clouds are a chief example." The Anthropoid Condition - The Los Angeles Review of Books JOHN DURHAM PETERS is a rare animal in the field of communications studies: a wide-ranging intellectual with a graceful prose style, a talent for synthesis, and a way with aphorisms. Perhaps best known for Speaking into the Air, his 1999 history of the idea of communication, he also has a...

This is a great encapsulation of an "inside editing" debate. Because I worked for years as a newspaper copy editor, I tend to omit serial commas, unless they are needed to avoid confusion. But then, I also omit the optional "e" at the end of my first name, so maybe I'm just a minimalist. I have one (favorite) client who prefers to use the Oxford comma, so I simply adapt my inner style manual when editing his work!
Working in an unheated "sunroom" built on a concrete slab gives me "cubist" feet.
