🌏📚 兩年的堅持，讓華語走進矽谷日常

在 僑務委員會 OCAC與 僑委會金山灣區僑教中心 OCAC in Milpitas的支持下，我們已經持續兩年將華語課程帶進 Google 矽谷總部園區，讓工程師在下班後，有一個能學習中文、也能自在交流的空間。課程從生活實用情境出發，包含買菜、點餐、日常對話與職場溝通，讓語言學習真正走進生活。課堂中，來自不同國家與背景的學員一邊學習中文，一邊分享在科技產業的經驗與文化觀察，使語言不只是工具，更成為交流與理解彼此的橋樑。

學員 Nick 分享，他多年以前曾在台灣生活與學習，如今回到中文課堂，是因為希望未來退休後能更自然地在台灣生活。他說：「如果想真正融入一個地方，就要學會那裡的語言。」這句話也讓我們深受感動。他也提到，在公司內，能和一群有相似背景的人一起學中文，是一種前所未有的體驗，不只是學語言，更是一種彼此連結的方式。

兩年多來，課程持續穩定開班並逐漸成長，也開始有更多科技公司表達合作興趣。每一次課堂中的笑聲與互動，都是我們持續推動的動力。語言的學習，不只是課本上的內容，而是慢慢走進生活，也走進人與人之間的故事。

🌏📚 Two years of commitment—bringing Mandarin into everyday life in Silicon Valley

With the support of OCAC and OCAC in Milpitas, we have spent the past two years bringing Mandarin classes into Google’s Silicon Valley campus, creating a space where engineers can learn Mandarin and connect after work. The program focuses on practical, real-life communication—from shopping and ordering food to daily conversations and workplace interactions—making language learning part of everyday life. In class, participants from diverse backgrounds not only learn Mandarin but also share experiences from the tech industry and cultural perspectives, turning language into a bridge for understanding and connection.

One student, Nick, shared that he had lived and studied in Taiwan many years ago. Returning to Mandarin class now, he hopes to live in Taiwan more naturally after retirement. He said, “If you want to truly integrate into a place, you need to learn its language.” His words deeply moved us. He also mentioned that learning Mandarin on campus with colleagues of similar backgrounds is a unique experience—not just language learning, but also a meaningful way of connecting people.

Over the past two years, the program has continued to grow steadily, with increasing interest from other tech companies. Every moment of laughter and interaction in class has been our motivation to keep moving forward. Language learning is not just about textbooks—it is about entering daily life and the stories between people.
