Bijou Baskets

As thanksgiving weekend comes to an end, I want to express my gratitude. Thanksgiving was my final day of orders and the amount of love I got after announcing my decision was incredible. I am so grateful to have such a strong & supportive community.

As many of you know, one of my primary goals for bijou was to be able to give back. For my 25th birthday, I decided to donate $500 to sponsor meals for the unhoused community in San Jose. My wonderful family joined me this morning to help distribute food & other supplies at our local library. ps, there are lots of volunteer opportunities and I’ll be adding the non profit’s info in the “donations” tab on my site!

It really feels like I’ve gone full circle here. What a fitting way to close up this chapter of bijou. Thank you to all of YOU- my customers, followers, and supporters- for enabling me to make an impact on my community. It is through your orders & contributions that I’m able to give back like this. Over the course of my business, I’ve donated nearly $5,000 to different charities and non profit organizations!! And none of that would’ve been possible without your support.

It’s a bittersweet feeling to wrap up my business and walk into an empty walk in fridge. The last 2.5 years have been so formative & impactful for me. I started it as a new grad just fu***ng around and here I am now, having catered Apple, Kaiser, Google, Chevron, Poshmark, etc all by myself! While working full time! Bijou has given me a taste of entrepreneurship and how fulfilling it is to build and grow something. I’ve learned about business operations and taxes, but most importantly, mental fortitude, resilience, and grit.

My life is going in a different direction now, but this won’t be the end of my entrepreneurship journey. Thank you so much for your love & support. ‘Till we meet again 🤍

ugh, I’ve been dreading making this post for the longest time, but I need to do it.

After 2.5 years, I’ve decided to close down Bijou Baskets and my last day of orders will be Thanksgiving 2022.

This decision has been a long time in the making- between balancing both my career & business, 2 hour daily commutes, rising costs of goods, etc, it just isn’t feasible/sustainable for me to continue this business. I don’t consider this a failure by any means- this has undoubted been the greatest learning experience & opportunity for me. But now, my life is moving in a different direction and it’s time to close this chapter.

I’ll make a longer post in the future explaining my reasoning behind this decision. Will this be the end forever? Probably not. Bijou is my passion project & my baby, so I’m still keeping my LLC status. Maybe I’ll come back to it someday, but I know that this won’t be the last time I’ll run a business. Thank you everyone for all the love & support you’ve shown me throughout the last few years.
