A VIEW OF OUR NATION- CONSCIOUS NEW AFRIKAN CITIZENS PERSPECTIVE
February 9, 2026|RNA
A VIEW OF OUR NATION THROUGH CLEAR EYES: A CONSCIOUS NEW AFRIKAN CITIZENS PERSPECTIVE
“All citizens of the Republic of New Afrika who are aware of their citizenship are conscious New Afrikan citizens. As a result of an over 300 year-old policy of force and fraud used
by the United States government and the governments of various American states against the New Afrikan nation, many citizens of the Republic of New Afrika are not aware of their human right to New Afrikan Citizenship and, indeed, are not aware of the existence of the New Afrikan Nation in North America. The growth of the conscious New Afrikan citizenship is related to the success of the liberation struggle. The objective measurement of that growth shall be considered in the development and implementation of Provisional Government policy, programs and structure as determined by the People's Center Council.”
Article 1, Section 7-Code of Umoja
New Afrikan People in North America face the culmination of 407 years of compounding contradictions and resistance to assimilation to the U.S. capitalist mass psychology of hate, greed and violence as the preeminent expression of civilization. What we face today as a People makes it self evident, more than ever before, we must engage the process of transfer culture if we have any hope of ever being truly free, self actualized and secure.
When the Republic of New Afrika, and its Provisional Government were formed, it was the culmination of the most potentially viable vehicle for transfer culture we had organized since the UNIA. It held the potential to move us as a People from being a cheap source of labor and a reliable domestic market for goods and services of the U.S. capitalist state, to an independent Nation pursuing its own interests, National destiny and Principles of Collective Life. It remains, in spite of its current state, one of the most viable vehicles we have as a People to ensure our empowerment and prosperity as a free People on this Earth.
“The first, foremost, and final source of all New Afrikan law and power is the New Afrikan people.”
Article 3, Section 1- Code of Umoja
Perhaps the greatest contradiction facing both the People of the New Afrikan Nation, and the Provisional Government, is most of our People in North America don't know the Nation exists, those who do know and want to participate in moving our People towards their National destiny through the Provisional Government are stymied from doing so by its current composition, for whatever reason, and those who have a personal stake in the Nations continued growth and the Provisional Government's success are continually viewed as antagonistic for engaging in principled constructive criticism of the obvious contradictions in the PG and the Nation as a whole.
I have been a conscious New Afrikan Citizen for longer than most have been alive. I first recited the New Afrikan Creed in 1972 in my Father's basement in Gary, Indiana after my Uncle's Nasaeu and Cleve brought it back with them from a meeting in Detroit, MI, with my Uncle Hamid. My Father and Uncles were Panthers, like most of the men and women in that part of Gary at the time. We moved to Jackson, Mississippi in the late 70’s, where I later served in the NAPO Self-Defense Forces and corrected dangerous racists militarily. This precipitating my enrolling into the US Military -and, ultimately out of the military- then back into the cause in California in the 80’s. I found myself, on the heals of COINTELPRO upgrades which descended on the UG in California, behind the wall, where the fight that had been carried on by W.L. Nolan, George L. Jackson, James McClain, Bill Christmas, Joka Khatari, Sangu Kambon, Yafeu Iyapo-I and others became my own. The struggle only intensified behind the wall and we shed blood and defended our People in the name of New Afrikan Revolutionary Nationalism just as hard as we did in the field. We created Black August Memorial and established Black August Resistance as our contribution to the culture of resistance embodied in the very concept of the New Afrikan. Our dedication to our New Afrikan National Identity found us slammed in solitary confinement, tortured for years and faced with continuous attempts on our lives by the pigs and their tools for decades; denied release from the hole and denied parole for refusing to renounce our New Afrikan National Identity. No organization in this country has been persecuted as severely or as long - over 60 years - as we have, for remaining dedicated to New Afrikan National Liberation and Nationhood. We never bowed, never broke, never bent and never stopped advancing NARN in all these years. Our stake in the success and purpose of the Republic of New Afrika is not simply personal, it is our chosen lifestyle, and always has been. Notions of ‘where we have been’ are ludicrous in the face of objective history. Where have we been? Fighting, sacrificing, building and dying on behalf of our People. That's where we've been. In recent years we organized and resisted our way out the holes of the California and other prison systems across this country. Some of us made it back to the field to rejoin our Komrades and People…and to continue this Struggle.
Which brings us to the present set of conditions. In the short span we've been back, in spite of our repeated and best efforts, we've watched one of the most viable entities capable of moving US AS A PEOPLE to genuine transfer culture, slowly eroded to 6 or 7 individuals attempting to set policy for over 14 million actual, and potential, conscious New Afrikan Citizens, without their participation, knowledge or consent. Most of our People do not even know they have their own Nation, and can't conceive of it as a viable entity in their lives because it has made no move to organize them around feeding, clothing, defending, housing or educating themselves that the People can see and feel. It's primarily because the organ responsible for accomplishing that end within the context of the Provisional Government, the People's Center Council, has been reduced to 4 People- one that can't even vote- you, the PCC Chair. It is a contradiction we've sought to resolve since 2023, with negative results.
“Legislation of the People's Center Council shall have precedence over the legislation, acts, directives, resolutions, and orders of all officers and Governmental bodies of the Republic of New Afrika.”
Article 3, Section 2, #2- Code of Umoja
The People's Center Council (PCC) is the supreme legislative and policy body of the Provisional Government, but in its current form, it's only voting members are those who make up the People's Revolutionary Leadership Council (PRLC). 3 Sistas are currently the entirety of the policy making body for a Nation of 14 million, when the Code is clear the ultimate arbiter of all policy is the New Afrikan People, who have no representation on the PCC at all…even those who are willing to serve in that capacity. This turns the entire purpose of both the Code of Umoja and the Provisional Government on its head by taking the power that rightfully rests with the New Afrikan People and places it into the hands of a fraction of the PRLC. When Conscious New Afrikan Citizens read the recent policy releases circulated by (you) the PCC Chair on matters like taxes, unit work and study and protocol- while well intentioned, for us it only underscored how far out of touch those who drafted and ratified these policy statements were with both the Code of Umoja and the New Afrikan People. How are you going ratify National Policy for 14 million People, New Afrikan Citizens across every New Afrikan population district in this country without their participation, knowledge, consent or district representation? Simply put, that's not possible. A representative PCC must be sat and a viable New Afrikan People's Court (of which the Provisional Government currently has none) first before any policy would carry the weight of legitimacy under the Code of Umoja.
“1. Each area where New Afrikans reside in significant numbers in North America shall be called a New Afrikan Population District.
4. In like manner the People's Center Council may authorize special elections to fill positions for Representatives and District Judges in Population
Districts where no Representative or District Judge has been elected, provided that half or more of the respective terms remain to be served.”
Article 4, Section 4, #1 & 4-Code of Umoja
The great contradiction before us is these matters could be resolved through the process of Consensus if a partiallyrepresentative PCC was seated. The New Afrikan Workers Union, because no one else was doing it, and because we are conscious New Afrikan Citizens already actively building with the People in NAWU Districts which are also Certified New Afrikan Population Districts, engaged the New Afrikan People themselves, found Sistas and Brothas, conscious New Afrikans all, to serve as Local Election Commissioners. We held a Zoom meeting with you and others associated with the current Provisional Government on the step by step process, and we followed it to the letter. None of those Sistas and Brothas received a response from the NEC. Once it was apparent none was forthcoming, and concerned New Afrikan Citizens began to criticize this, (you) the PCC Chair issued new guidance, and Citizens immediately complied…still no direction or acknowledgement of receipt of this 2nd round of Letters of Intent at all. Again, a state of affairs that I doubt would exist if citizens were actually involved in the PCC and New Afrikan Courts. Citizens can't even lodge a formal complaint or grievance with the courts because, in its current form, the Provisional Government has no courts.
To be sure, under the Code of Umoja, the PCC could have authorized special elections to fill the PCC and New Afrikan Courts with Reps and Judges anytime it so chose in the interviewing years and months it was clear these vital organs were depleted. In its current form, it did not do so.
If any officer of the current PCC or PRLC felt that elements of either - though they are in its current form one and the same - were intentionally prolonging this state of dysfunction, Article 4, Section 6, #’s 1 & 2 outline the process by which such internal obstacles can be removed…but that's impossible if there is no viable PCC to engage the two - 3rds vote necessary to effect such a remedy. In its current form, that option is impossible.
This all brings us back to Article 3, Section 1 of the Code: the ultimate arbiter of law and power in the Republic of New Afrika is not the PCC, PRLC or even the Provisional Government itself, it is the New Afrikan People. Therefore, it is to the New Afrikan People that we must all, New Afrikan Citizens and the Provisional Government alike, go to secure a definitive resolution to this contradiction and restoration of both our Provisional Government and our New Afrikan Nation. This must be done via a New Afrikan National Convention, a gathering of conscious New Afrikan Citizens and organizations coming together to determine the future direction of our Nation.
The last time the PG-RNA engaged in anything resembling a National Convention was in 1970 on the heels of the shoot out we had with the pigs in Detroit which was, in addition to our adoption of the Ujamaa Program we adopted from Nyerere’s Revolutionary Socialists in Tanzania, one of the precipitating factors of us moving the Nations Headquarters to Jackson, Mississippi, adopting the 5 States Solution and coining the term “Free the Land”. Few who haven't experienced COINTELPRO, or it's many upgrades since, first hand, can not truly grasp the degree of repression we as a People faced in this period - from the pigs constantly frustrating our attempts to purchase land, to the unprovoked attack on us in ‘71…and all that has followed.
Those of us who have been in this fight, actually fighting, have learned much in these intervening years and the current state of the New Afrikan Nation, the state of our People and Communities, and the state of our Provisional Government demand that we convene this New Afrikan National Convention and enter a period of National Restoration. On the other side, we will emerge a stronger more unified People, with closer more effective social cooperation in building the infrastructure of our Districts and a fully functional Provisional Government. (You) PCC Chair, can facilitate this effort now…or not. There are conscious New Afrikan Citizens capable and competent to serve as PCC Reps and Judges right now. Electors have submitted their Letters of intent and Reps have their Bio’s ready according to New Afrikan law. But the PEOPLE must have an opportunity to weigh in with their own voices, and put forth their own concerns and solutions, and we plan to facilitate that process and we hope you will join us.

Population Crisis Looms: Demographic Meltdown Threatens Global Stability
Editorial:
The world is facing a critical demographic challenge that could have far-reaching consequences for global stability and prosperity. As outlined in the Geopolitical Futures article "The Demographic Meltdown," birth rates are declining while life expectancy is increasing, creating a worrying imbalance that will strain economies and societies around the world.
The math is stark - fewer working-age people will have to support a growing elderly population, putting immense pressure on social safety nets, caregiving systems, and labor markets. Countries may be forced to turn to mass migration or automation to fill critical gaps, both of which come with their own sets of challenges and potential for social unrest.
This demographic meltdown is a truly global phenomenon, with advanced economies like the United States and Europe as well as developing nations all grappling with the implications. Without drastic interventions to boost birth rates or extend healthy lifespans, the world could face acute shortages of workers to grow food, provide healthcare, educate the young, and maintain the fabric of society.
Governments and policymakers must take this threat seriously and develop comprehensive strategies to address the impending crisis. Innovative solutions in childcare, eldercare, immigration, and technological integration will be essential to navigating this demographic minefield. Failure to act decisively could lead to economic stagnation, political upheaval, and a future that is increasingly difficult for humans to manage.
The demographic meltdown is not a problem that will go away on its own. It requires a concerted, global effort to avert a potentially devastating societal collapse. The time to act is now, before the consequences of inaction become too severe to overcome.
