Today we're talking to Javier, a science teacher at San Andreas who's been with us for 8 years, always bringing an optimism and enthusiasm that is contagious, in the words of Superintendent Goode.

For Javier, this job isn't as much about teaching a subject as it is about helping students rediscover that they can learn to do hard things.

"I always wanted to be the kind of person I needed as a kid," he says. "Continuation schools are all about second chances. When students feel seen, supported, and heard, they do amazing things."

Thank you, Javier, for the priceless work you do of helping our incredible kids get back on track and believe in themselves again.

🚨 Attention 10th, 11th, & 12th Grade Students🚨

TUHSD will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT to Tam District students, only. The exams will be offered at each school campus in October. If you would like to sign up for these exams, please click on the link below to access the sign-up form.

IMPORTANT: ONLY STUDENTS CAN SUBMIT THIS FORM, NOT THEIR PARENTS.

Exam Schedule:
October 20, 2026 → PSAT/NMSQT for Grades 10 & 11
October 21, 2026 → SAT for Grades 11 & 12

NOTE: Students enrolled in 9th grade for 2026-27 are NOT eligible to take these scheduled exams.

The deadline for submissions is September 11, 2026. If you submit the form multiple times, only your last submission will be considered.

🚨 Archie Construction Update 🚨

The football field and track construction continues to make major progress. As of today, these will be completed by the end of September. We are so excited for Archie students to use these new and improved facilities – all of this made possible because of the passing of Measure B by the TUHSD community.

We continue to remain on schedule and on budget and greatly thank you all!
