Our magical backyard turned into a floating wonderland and these little scientists were ON it, reaching, running, giggling, and popping their own masterpieces.

They didn't ask for a tent.
They built one.
A climbing dome. Some fabric. A few blankets.
And these 3 and 4 years old children who knew exactly what they needed.
This is what we mean by play-based learning —
not an activity we planned,
but a world they created.

We had so much fun with this morning
Music filled our backyard with rhythm, movement, and joyful connection. Some children danced, some listened closely, and some explored the instruments in their own way.
In music, every child finds their voice. 💛

新春快樂!!!
We had so much fun spending time with our families to celebrate Lunar New Year today!
We tried a very traditional way of making rice cakes, mochi, turning sticky rice into soft, chewy mochi together.
Today our children got to see, touch, and experience the process with their own hands. From pounding the rice to feeling the texture change, every moment was filled with curiosity, laughter, and connection.
It was so special to celebrate alongside our families, sharing traditions, lion dance fun, and joyful smiles together.
Culture becomes meaningful when it is lived, shared, and celebrated as a community ❤️

Our little tigers, cats, unicorns, and firefighters had a spook-tacular time learning, laughing, and parading through the neighborhood.
The witches and their students shared giggles, teamwork, and lots of Halloween spirit! 🧙‍♀️🧡

🌕✨ Mid-Autumn Festival Sharing ✨🌕
I had a very special story time with my son Ox’s kindergarten class 💛 Thanks Golden Bridges School and the wonderful teacher for inviting me to share this important festival we celebrate. 🥮🏮

The children listened to moon stories🌙, tasted mooncakes, explored colorful lanterns, and I also brought beautiful .bao books to the classroom 📚. It was so sweet to see their curiosity and joy!

At ME Playschool, we love bringing cultural traditions into children’s lives, helping them feel connected across families, classrooms, and cultures. 🌍💫

這週我在Ox的幼兒園班級裡帶來了一場特別的故事時間 💛
非常感謝 Golden Bridges School 的老師邀請我分享我們重要的傳統節日 🥮🏮

孩子們聽了月亮的故事 🌙、品嚐了月餅、探索了繽紛的燈籠，我也帶了 .bao 的精美中英童書到課堂上 📚。看到他們好奇又歡樂的模樣，真的好可愛！

在 ME Playschool，我們喜歡把文化傳統融入孩子的日常生活，讓他們感受到家庭、課堂與文化之間的連結。🌍💫

Today we celebrated a birthday together at our family child care home. Our little friend proudly said she is 3 years old. I smiled and shared that I just turned 40. She giggled and said: “Teacher Pyrena, happy 4th birthday!”

In that moment, the weight of 40 felt light as a feather. Children always remind us to see life with simple joy and pure hearts.

After a pause on posting, I’m back with a full heart. The past two months brought precious family time with my mom, my sister, and her family in the UK, and deeper community work through my volunteer role on the board of our local association.

These two days, I watched my 4-year-old design and built his own pulley system using a climbing dome, string, tool box, blu track and toy cars. He turned the structure into a working elevator, experimenting with pulleys like a tiny engineer.

I was amazed, not just as a parent but as an early childhood educator, by his focus, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Children do incredible things when given the space, time, and materials to explore. These small moments are what inspire me to keep showing up for the children, families, and fellow educators in our community.

Sometimes the best lessons come from the littlest voices.

Kids remind us to stay curious, resilient, and full of wonder. As we guide them, let's stay open to learning from them too. Their honesty, creativity, and courage just might be the inspiration we need this week.
