Come help us pick up more of the beads you love! If you’ve been following along, General Bead SF’s beloved bead store is donating most of their remaining stock to SCRAP — and we need strong, scrappy folks to help us load and unload it all.

Join us for one or both sessions on Monday, Sep 28 💪✨

Wondering what’s different about the new SCRAP? 👀 Bead-lieve it or not, we have MORE beads than ever before. Our greatly expanded bead section is thanks to a very special donation from legendary San Francisco bead store General Bead

Glass and wood beads. Seed beads. Letter beads. Findings. Vintage components. Rhinestones. And plenty we’re still discovering.

When the Sunshine family reached out and asked if we could give a new home to a portion of their incredible inventory, the answer was a very enthusiastic YES YES YES! Over two months and multiple trips, we brought what we currently estimate to be 20,000+ pounds of beads and findings to our new Depot.

We’ll be sharing more of the story throughout September- from getting all those beads here and sorting through them to, of course, what you can make with them.

“What’s the weirdest thing people donate to SCRAP ?”
“Well, we’ve seen a little bit of everything over the years and I’ve collected my fair share of it in the process.
Whether it’s old crime scene photographs, dubious-prosthetics, or mummified-pets; it eventually finds its way to us.
I started to notice the occasional instance of families donating adult and baby-teeth. If I had a dime for every time it happened I could afford a cup of coffee😜.
It got to the point that I asked the customers and friends:
What should I make with all of these teeth that hasn’t really been done before?
And one of the bears in my life suggested a studded-jacket.
Well, I fell in love with the idea!
Here we have the gross-result of sifting teeth from thousands of pounds of materials and 2-years of SCRAP donations.”
