Yreka High School Spanish Exchange Program Los Mineros Van a España--
(The Miners go to Spain)

Beginning November 2016, Yreka High School launched a foreign exchange program with Spain.

Our school partnered with a Spanish school located thirty minutes from Madrid in a village called Soto Del Real. Yreka students go to Soto every fall to stay with selected host families for a duration of four weeks. In the spring, Spanish students come to Yreka to stay with participating Yreka families. Our first exchange is complete and it turned out to be an incredible experience for everybody i

nvolved. Our exchange program is planning on doing a lot of fundraising this year to help send us back to Spain in the fall of 2017. If you are interested in getting involved in the exchange program, please contact Francisco Atanes at [email protected].
