Trying to reorder and re-edit my portfolio for reviews tomorrow. The round table may not have been the best choice!
Photography of Annette LeMay Burke I've been interested in photography since I was a teen.
I've always wanted to share how I see the world with others and photography provides me that opportunity. I'm a Bay Area native and I've studied photography at UC Berkeley, Santa Fe Workshops, West Valley College, Academy of Art University, and PhotoAlliance. Many of my images focus on how we interact and intersect with the natural world. I strive to show the beauty of nature's nuances and details

Fauxliage - On the Flanks of Mauna Kea, Waimea, HI (2026)
Even in the fog and rain, these manufactured trees are recognizable. This one is located at 6000' between two volcanoes on the big island of Hawaii.

Fauxliage - 5GT3, Irvine, CA (2026)
Irvine is a relatively new planned city (1965). It contains a lot of office parks, strip malls, and 1970s "industrial parks" (according to New Topographics photographer Lewis Baltz.) The area also hosts a large number of high end cars; I think even more than Silicon Valley. I captured this image during sunrise on a Sunday morning.

Fauxliage - Wires Crossed, Lebec, CA 2026
Does a cell phone tower need to be concealed as a tree when it’s on a road lined with telephone poles? Well, this one is.
I published a book of my Fauxliage images a few years ago, but I still photograph outstanding towers that I encounter in my travels.
New work from my Prime Location series which examines how the rapid growth of e-commerce is reshaping the landscape.

Join us Friday night for an opening reception for "Into the Complete Unknown", a photography exhibition at Harvey Milk Photo Center in San Francisco.
"Into the Complete Unknown" brings together five women artists whose photography responds to profound life experiences of loss, upheaval, and transformation. Their images reveal dignity in uncertainty and show that resilience and wisdom are discovered not in resolution, but in the ongoing act of moving through the unknown.

Best in Show! A big thank you to New York Times Photo Editor Brent Lewis for selecting my image as Best in Show for the Colorado Photographic Arts Center Members' Show.
My image, Chuck's Corvette, is from the series Memory Building where I fuse the past and the present by projecting my family’s vernacular photographs onto the surfaces of my childhood home and rephotographing the scene.
Congrats to all the photographers selected for the show and to the other award winners: .in.roam__ ,
