Open source is the way forward! Tencent 腾讯, the gaming giant behind stakes in studios like Riot Games, Epic Games, Supercell, Ubisoft, Miniclip, just announced that they open-sourced their 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗻 (𝗛𝗬) 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹!

That’s a big deal.

Tencent likely sits on one of the richest datasets of interactive 3D worlds and game mechanics anywhere - across genres, player behaviors, and live systems.

So this isn’t just another model release.

It signals where things are heading:
The value in game development is no longer just production efficiency.
It’s also about who owns, trains, and operationalizes the data behind these worlds - and how that feeds into AI-driven pipelines.

What their open-source world-model unlocks:
- Unlimited playable duration
- Real-time rendering on consumer GPUs
- Accurate lighting, real physics, collision-aware interactions
- One-time generation → near-zero rendering cost
- Export-ready for Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine,

Most people think Spatial Computing is just about "big screens." They're missing the point. Google AndroidXR’s new auto-spatialization just turned the Play Store into an immersive app library!

We also saw Bradley Lynch's envision thinking games as 6DoF "portals". He’s right - but this isn’t just for gamers. Stereoscopic viewing and Parallax might be the new standard for Spatial Entertainment or Apps like:
Maps: 3D landscapes you can physically lean into.
Showreels: Portfolios that pop off the screen.
Photos: Memories with actual volume.

We’ve been obsessing over this at . Our open-source Parallax Kit (built with the support of Ian from World Labs and Johannes from Sensai Hackademy) can bring depth to 3D showcases.

At our Hack, 94% of teams built with Marble using our open-source kits. Just look at what our friends at World Labs just announced less than 5 months after Marble launch - incredible progress! I can only imagine what we’ll be witnessing a year from now.

AWE USA 2026 is returning to the Long Beach Convention Center from June 15–18. As the world’s #1 XR&AI conference and expo, the event has expanded to a 4-day format this year. The 2026 theme, "𝗜, 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹: 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜," explores the intersection of AI and immersive technologies.

The future of world models might’ve just shown up at Hack last weekend. 🌍
Using World Labs Marble API and our Sensai Hackademy Unity kit, the Best World Implementation with Pico Category Winner Team SyncSpace (Weibo Xu & Qinchuan Zhang ) turns real rooms into fully aligned, playable game scenes. This is real-to-virtual spatial alignment: walls, objects, and ceilings instantly transform to match the Founders, Inc. Hack Area. And with LLM voice interaction and real-time object generation, they create fully dynamic gameplay.

My take: With XR companies like PICO XR and Meta pushing Hyperscape and Scene Understanding features and World Labs raising $1B (especially the $200M from Autodesk), the future of customizable reality is coming fast.

What it enables:
Real-Virtual Alignment: Your physical space becomes the foundation of your virtual world.
Dynamic Environments: Switch themes daily, from fantasy dungeons to futuristic labs.

From running a booth at GDC Festival of Gaming, to giving a World Model talk on the International Stage, to many afterparties (and of course, right after, hosting the hack)..
This was a crazy week!

Amazing to reconnect with old friends (Jake Steinerman Dilmer Valecillos Deepak Nair,Dale Newcomb, Jr. Emre Tanırgan), partners (David Gene Oh, Ke Jing at GTC, and so many super talented hackers shaping what’s coming next.

We brought the excitement of world models to the GDC floor, and this is just getting started 💥

Hackers came together to experiment, ship fast, and explore what World Models make possible.
