I map The Fundamentals of Thriving™ for leadership to that of a healthy tree.

The Self = The roots

The roots represent the relationship we have with ourself, defining the lens through which we perceive guiding our unique experience and how we create our reality.

Our relationships = The trunk

The trunk signifies the support we create from trusted relationships , contributing to the culture and environment we operate in.

Our results = The leaves

The leaves are the resulting effects and communication that drive the actions and conditions of our everyday experience.

How well you know yourself and cultivate your mindset, directly relates to the health of your relationships, ultimately influencing your success and your impact.

SelfRelationshipsResults. It’s all one integrated system.

Growth, transformation, and genuine flourishing require a dynamic attendance to all three. As a leader your goal is to ask: am I watering the roots, fertilizing with trust, and pruning for the right results?

Take care of yourself and your mind so that you foster a team built on trusted, relationships that drive effective communication and powerful results.

I'm stoked to share with you all the release of my new book, "Living on Purpose."

I wrote this book because I was seeing a pattern in the people I was coaching, hanging out with, just generally interacting with… imposter syndrome and an overall level of unhappiness with the lives people were choosing. And then diving into the psychology and neuroscience of it all, I just had to share what I was starting to put together. I wanted to create tangible process for people to bust through unhelpful patterns and live joyfully on purpose.

Available for preorder now through the link in my bio and available everywhere on May 24th.

Happy International Women’s day!

I know it was yesterday but I wanted to focus on spending my day with the powerful women in my life and take time to reflect with them.

For me this day was not just about breaking all the biases we have, but most importantly about appreciating who we are.

It is so important to not only recognize the women in our lives but also that we reach out and express our appreciation to them and how they impact our lives.

In the comments below, send one of the powerful women in your life some love! Comment one sentence about the impact they have had in tour life and then tag them!

Had a blast chatting with Sonja on her podcast, the Vault. Our biggest challenge in life is self imposed resistance. The secret to finding flow is first discovering what resistance really is, and learning the tools to pivot and reach for instead of push away.

You are meant to thrive and live on purpose💛

But what does that mean?

Simply put, it’s taking full responsibility for the quality of your experience and using your powers of self-awareness and choice to shift your perspective, moment-by-moment, into one of freedom, joy, and possibility.

And I have created a resource to help you do just that. Either text me at (415) 795 2878 or click the link in my bio to find the companion guide to get started. After you start the practice, text me and let me know how it goes:)

I want to spend more time connecting with the people I care about beyond this platform. So text me for all things inspiration, self awareness and new offerings. 😊

Public speaking tip #214 - Put on the shoes, the real ones, and wear them during your virtual presentation. Yes, even though no one will see them.

That’s what I’m doing today… say hello to my favorite podcasting “pumps.”

Is it all in my head? Yep. But that’s what it’s all about: Presence. Mindset. Focus. Awesome shoes are one of my favorite go-tos to get my head in the game.

Try it out! At the very least, wouldn’t it feel good to pull out a pair that have been collecting dust since Feb 2020? Do yourself and your colleagues a favor and go grab your lucky kicks and put them to work today. :)

So much fun on the show this morning talking with Glenn about how trust is the essential ingredient for meaningful and fulfilling connections. Thanks for having me !⁣

Experiencing genuine connection is absolutely crucial to thrive. Decide what “connected” really means for you. Be intentional at the start of your day and ask yourself: how, when and with whom will I engage with another for the purposes of connection and fulfillment? Authentic relationships don’t need to be a trade off when minding your work. Connection can happen anywhere in any medium. It starts with a deliberate intention. ✨⁣

Trust is the ultimate currency. And today, more than ever, we all need the skills to create and sustain trusted connection with our colleagues in our ever-evolving hybrid work environments.⁣

"Trust" isn't a nice-to-have, and it's not the result of simply liking each other, having things in common, or getting along. Trust is created and eroded in the micro-moments of our speaking and listening. Trust is created in our conversations.⁣

Don't leave trust to chance. If you want to proactively create relationships of care, courage, and candor and ensure your ability to create mutual success with others, then join me in my Stanford Continuing Education Conversational Intelligence (Virtual) Workshop on March 5th and 6th (space is limited!). See link to register in the comments.⁣

In this workshop, we'll dive into what's happening in the brain during our conversations and you'll understand what trust is (and isn't.) You'll learn actionable practices to ensure that your impact on others is congruent with the intention you hold, how to strengthen partnerships, and joyfully get more done in less time.⁣

I've been really struggling and extremely torn about social media. I have accounts - FB, IG, Twitter, LI - but I've not been on them because frankly, I don't like the way it feels to be sucked in, and I don't like learning about the negative effects that that are beginning to surface. I am all about making the world a better place and my self-righteous argument for the past 6 months has been, "I'm not going to try to make the world a better place by using a technology that seems to bring harm to humanity." ⁣

I could have deleted my accounts and really took a stand, but that didn't feel right either.⁣

I've been paralyzed. Stuck. And in my line of work, especially with a book coming out 3/22/22, it doesn't serve me or my mission to keep my head in the sand.⁣

If you're in my inner circle, you've no doubt lovingly entertained me on this topic and have provided brilliant counter-arguments. "But there is good on social too! You can help people! You can inspire them!" and as much as I get the truth in that, it’s been hard engage from the heart.⁣

It wasn't until a conversation with my friend, Rev. Bill McDonald, that he set me straight. "Amy, there are a lot of truly scary dark places out there. Give others a place to land that isn't that. You've got a job to do. Give them the light that isn't that dark."⁣

Right.⁣

Arnold, and many of my favorite people, have repeatedly given me that message but I never really heard it in the way I did this week. It changed me. And so here I am. I feel raw, vulnerable, ready, apprehensive, and excited for this next stage. I'm choosing to be connected here again.⁣

I have a job to do and it's not gonna happen it I shut my eyes and act like social media will just go away one day. Because it won't. It's like 🔥 fire - it makes our lives dramatically better and it has the potential to kill us. Honor it or misuse it - that is an individual decision that only one person alone can make.⁣

So while the headlines bother me, I'm going to choose to rise above it and show up with intention and on purpose. Because it’s very much worth it to be connected to you and doing the good work together. ❤️

I could have deleted my accounts and really took a stand, but that didn't feel right either.

I've been paralyzed. Stuck. Really having a hard time making sense of what to do. And in my line of work, especially with a book coming out March of next year, it doesn't serve me or my mission to keep my head in the sand.

If you're in my inner circle, you've no doubt lovingly entertained me on this topic and have provided brilliant counter-arguments. "But there is good on social too! You can help people! You can inspire them!" and as much as I get the truth in that, it hasn't felt authentic to hop on and engage.

It wasn't until a conversation with my friend, Rev. Bill McDonald, that he set me straight. "Amy, there are a lot of truly scary dark places out there. Give others a place to land that isn't that. You've got a job to do. Give them the light that isn't that dark."

Right.

Arnold Eric Wong, and many of my favorite people, have given me that message over and over but I never really heard it in the way I did this week. It changed me. And so here I am. I feel raw, vulnerable, ready, apprehensive, and excited for this next stage. I'm choosing to be connected back on FB, IG and LI.

This time it all comes from the heart. Not from a strategy or a formula and not because it's something I *should* do. And it's going to take work and me reconditioning myself out of this old resistant attitude to stay the course.

But it's worth it. I have a job to do and it's not gonna happen it I shut my eyes and act like social media will just go away one day. Because it won't. It's like 🔥 fire - it makes our lives dramatically better and it has the potential to kill us. Honor it or misuse it - that is an individual decision that only one person alone can make.

So while the headlines bother me, I'm going to choose to rise above it all and play my part, do what I do best, and show up with intention. It's going to require a new chosen focus, but I'm choosing to be ready for that. So if you'll have me back in your feed, I'd be honored to be a part of the conversation again. Let's elevate the conversation together, find reasons to be grateful, focus on what's right instead of what's wrong, and commit to living with meaning, loving with compassion, and serving from the heart. Thanks friends, I look forward to the magic we'll create together through our conversations. ❤️
