It's time for Round One of Mandelbrot! For the 2017-18 school year Proof School is producing the Mandelbrot Competition, a nationwide high school math contest coordinated by Sam Vandervelde. Ten Proof students, who participated in a problem-writing seminar last spring specially designed for the purpose, composed the large majority of the forty-five carefully constructed questions appearing on this year’s tests. Over 200 schools, representing an estimated 4000 students, have registered for the contest. We're thrilled to be sharing our love of math through these really fun problems.

We're hosting a free math festival for girls!
Our math festival for girls aims to create a community by encouraging cooperative problem-solving. With mathematical art to make, fun-filled logic puzzles to solve, and intriguing mathematical games, this event will be unlike most (or any!) math you've ever seen.
