Doors open June 23rd in conjunction with an amazing Free Virtual Live Experience and pop-up FB Group! Ahhh!! We can't wait!! 🥰🤩🥳 This time of year is always so energizing!

Perhaps an unpopular opinion here, but I never taught what was required of me 😳 I just closed my doors and did what I thought was best for my students. I know not everyone is gifted that privilege, and it saddens me SO MUCH because The System makes it so hard for great teachers to be just that - GREAT. It’s why when I co-founded EB Academics in 2014, one thing was abundantly clear for me—in our curriculum development, we needed to keep TEACHERS and STUDENTS at the forefront of our minds. And that’s exactly what we’ve done for nearly a decade. We are in a freaking MISSION here at EB to get our curriculum approved by as many entities as it takes to ensure that if a teacher wants to use our curriculum because they KNOW it works for students because the results speak for themselves, then they CAN. Right now we have so many phenomenal ELA teachers utilizing our programs, with some of the highest test scores in their district—heck, even in their state—but are unable to continue using our curriculum because we have yet to make it onto the approved lists. But I’ll tell you right now, it is my darn mission here at EB to do everything we possibly can, as a team of women who are all current or former teachers, to get on those lists! Change happens when we have a common cause. That cause? Helping students love learning and helping teachers thrive both in and out of the classroom ♥️ We’re releasing our brand-new, comprehensive core ELA curriculum for grades 5-8 this summer. Make your lesson plans and copies for the first week of school. 🤓😱 Yes, I know, call me crazy, and I know some teachers will be reassigned right before school starts. BUT—it literally can take you 30-45 minutes to get that all set up and DONE before you leave for summer, and you’re giving your brain whitespace for an ENTIRE like two months of summer break ☀️♥️ 45 minutes of my time now for 60 days of my time later? Yes, please. Put me in coach 🙋🏼‍♀️ Do you do this? If not, save this for later as a reminder to do the hard thing now, so life can be easy later. What’s hard now is easy later

But WHY ON EARTH do they think we can grade them in less than 24 hours?! 💀🫠🙃

1. DEDICATED and uninterrupted time. Tell your family, get someone to watch your kids, lock your door, remove all distractions, and get to freaking work. The discipline this takes is hard and also SO freaking worth it.

2. Use the standards to guide you! If you’re utilizing a resource or strategy or lesson in your classroom, be sure it’s worth it. The standards are your North Star ⭐️

3. You absolutely HAVE to have a framework to follow. You can’t just plan blindly without a method. That’s why we’ve developed our EB Batch Planning Framework over the last decade (and even wrote a book about it)—it is so essential to successfully planning your lessons.
