June Jordan School for Equity (JJSE) is a small public high school located in the Excelsior neighborhood of San Francisco.
Founded in 2003, the school is named after Bay Area writer and activist June Jordan. Who We Are: Demographics
- 250 students, primarily from San Francisco’s southeast neighborhoods
- 67% eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, the second-highest rate among city high schools
- 20% special education (including two Special Day Classes), and 17% English learners
- 51% Latino; 28% Black;
