What a beautiful May Day at Kona Pacific today
Our students did an incredible job sharing their learning through hula, oli, song, and performance, representing the islands with pride and joy. It was so special to come together as a community to celebrate Hawaiian culture, creativity, and tradition.
A big mahalo to our staff, students, and especially Nohea Runnells for making this event such a success.

Kona Pacific Public Charter School is now enrolling for the 2026–2027 school year! 🌿

We offer a free, high-quality Pre-K through 8th grade education filled with celebration, imagination, and wonder.

Due to weather concerns across the state, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education has expanded school closures to include all public and charter schools on Hawaiʻi Island tomorrow, March 13. As a result, Kona Pacific will be closed tomorrow. Please stay safe and dry!

Here we go! Six Kona Pacific staff members are on their way to Oahu to present as part of the Harvard Project Zero Thinking Classroom cohort. They have been part of the cohort for a year and a half and have worked to make thinking visible on campus.

Sunday, February 8, 2026, Governor Green announced the closure of all state offices for Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.
This includes ALL state offices, HIDOE, UH campuses, the Legislature, judiciary and charter schools.

Please prepare for significant severe weather expected statewide and announced closures and safety measures.
