Autism & AuDHD Resource Guide | SF ADHD Coach 05/18/2025

I recently published an AuDHD (Autism + ADHD) resource guide on my website—a collection of books, podcasts, articles, and personal reflections I’ve found especially helpful on my own journey.

When I first began to suspect I might also be Autistic two years ago, I was overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Thankfully, with the support of some incredible Autistic friends, mentors, and my therapy team, I was able to find my way.

This guide is what I wish I’d had back then.

It’s designed primarily for ADHDers who think they might also be Autistic—but I hope it’ll be useful for friends, family members, and anyone wanting more accurate, current, and affirming information about Autism.

I’d love for you to share it!

Please take a look and let me know what you think! If there’s anything you’ve found helpful that’s missing, I’d love to hear about it. I plan to keep updating this over time.

Thank you , , , & for a wonderful weekend! It was amazing to reconnect with old colleagues and meet new people. This was my first major professional outing since learning I am also autistic and coming out of a year long case of neurodivergent burnout (which prevented me from joining last year).

I learned so much from the panels and got to put some of my newly minted nervous system regulation skills to the test. I had my fair share of ups and downs, but the support from my peers has been everything. I look forward to next year!

First day of the ADHD Conference! So good to see so many lovely friends and colleagues and learn so much This is a gentle reminder to tend to your nervous system today. I’m taking a sensory break during lunch. So grateful to have discovered to help me ground and regulate.

This right here! Thank you for sharing this, . Simone Biles is such an inspiration and wonderful role model. 🙌 I’m currently on sabbatical - partially for my mental health and partially to spend time with my family. I am holding on to my faith that my work will be there when I’m ready to return to it this fall.

Feeling immense gratitude for the life we’ve built and for a career that allows me to take time off to actually enjoy this life. 🥰

The ocean and the beach have always been my happy places. The warm weather, the feel of the breeze, the beautiful colors… all of these things bring me so much joy and peace.

So often we get caught up in doing that we forget to make time to relax and play. I’d love to know: what things bring you joy? What would you like to make space for this year?

I debated about posting this because I’m mindful of the privilege that has allowed me to take a vacation like this. I don’t want to come across as a person who brags or shows off. That’s not my vibe. And I’ve got to be honest: there are moments this week I’ve felt uncomfortable with the extravagance surrounding me. But on the flip side, this trip is giving me perspective about meeting my own needs more regularly and enjoying these experiences without judgment. This place is special and I SO appreciate every little thing about it.

I wanted to share a bit of my personal joy with you. Especially because play and joy are critical to our well being.

This week has been healing because I reconnected with two activities I absolutely LOVE! And I get to do this with one of the people I love most in this world. 💖

1) I finally got back into the ocean after 8 years for a refresh scuba dive (obviously more of a special occasion thing) and it was pure magic. (Even if I was freaking out a bit at times.) Being under the surface with the sound of your own breath and the fish around you… one of my favorite sensory experiences. It’s quiet and thrilling and lovely. 🤿🐠

2) I’ve also been reading fiction for pleasure (this one I can easily make more time for). In case you’re curious… I’m really digging right now. Beach House is a perfect vacation read.)

ND hive mind!!! This year I’m setting an intention to focus on rest, letting go, and acceptance. Music is a powerful anchor for me - so I’d love to know: what are your favorite songs about these themes?

Today this is what a piece of my self care looks like. On the surface this may not look like much. Some might think this is shallow and not a long term solution. And they’d be right. Sort of… Because the truth is that it’s the combination of all the tiny decisions and actions we take over time that add up and lead to more lasting change. (Shout out to .)

If I’ve learned anything about progress, it’s that consistency is a big fat myth. Life is cyclical and there’s a natural ebb/flow to our energy and commitments. We are constantly evolving.

What matters isn’t that you fall down—it’s that you take as much time as you fu***ng need to rest/recover and then you get back up when you’re ready. (Not when someone tells you that you’re ready.) This will look different across the lifespan and contexts.

If you look more deeply, you’ll see why today is such a huge deal for me…

This may be a 2-part post. Because I want to share about how my recent Autism discovery plays into this. But I am out of spoons for now…

Totally slow on getting a few pics up from my first ADHD Conference. But better late than never, amirite? 😎 I really enjoyed getting to see some of the ADHD experts give some fantastic talks and I learned a LOT. But the biggest takeaway from this conference was how vitally important connection is. As humans we are hard wired for connection. 💖 But it’s a non-negotiable for us ADHDers. Simply knowing there are other people who share your experiences and understand you is so powerful.

I cried tears of joy and sadness upon returning home because I never realized how much I mask in my own life. I subconsciously spend a lot of time and energy explaining myself or trying to maintain eye contact and so on… But for the first time maybe ever, I didn’t feel like I had to pretend to have my s**t together in front of a group of so-called strangers. I didn’t feel like I had to explain if I was running late or changed my mind about going to something. Being around people who accept you and get it. That’s EVERYTHING. 🌈

This has definitely inspired me to get some kind of a group offering together in 2023 once I have rested and freed up some additional bandwidth. So stay tuned… and if you’re thinking about attending the conference next year. I highly recommend it!

Not so long ago my therapist told me I should consider finding some community… and I said “yeah, okay…” while internally rolling my eyes. (I was living in the camp of “I can do this on my own.”) But it was kind of lonely and I do love people…
So when the pandemic hit and my previous business and my world imploded, I was kind of in this weird space of “I’m open to trying something different.” And one thing led to another… and I enrolled in an ADHD coach training program.
And I was suddenly connected with a bunch of other ADHDers who wanted to become ADHD coaches and something really magical happened…
I started to feel authentic connection and recognize the power of shared experiences and passions.
And when our first part of training at the ended, I remembered my therapist’s wise advice….
So we formed a weekly consult support group so we could keep that magic going. And a little over 2 years after we first saw each other in our tiny video boxes, we got to share a delicious meal in person. And I am so insanely grateful for these two amazing human beings. They are brilliant, phenomenal coaches and friends. They make me a better person and I am so honored they chose to include me in their lives and careers. Love you, Erika & Jay!!!!
