the last seven years, I have been a classroom teacher, school administrator, and part-time tutor. All of these experiences have helped me truly understand the social emotional and academic pressures our students are facing and lend support. I’m a true advocate in teaching to the whole student and believe in every child’s ability to achieve personal success. Being able to support families and build relationships with students is my life’s work. I pride myself on being a lifelong learner and therefore always seek new ways to serve students through my research and professional training, committed to their growth. I am committed to using best practice curricular tools that allow me to customize support for readers and writers, study skill development or coaching self reflection and motivation. It is important to me to build a strong system of support around each student and engage parents in their child’s education by emailing a summary at the end of each session and participate in a progress conference up to two times a semester. Beyond my work with students, I gain inspiration from spending time with family and friends, taking hikes and walks in my hometown of San Francisco, where I am a proud sixth generation resident, and enjoying all the music, art, and culture the Bay Area has to offer.
