We’re proud to celebrate our only senior this year, Kurstin, on being named a Links Achiever.
The San Diego Chapter of The Links, Inc. selects high school seniors who have distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, the arts, and their communities for its Achiever Program, which prepares them for what’s next through college readiness, leadership, and financial education.
Kurstin is the second member of Club FBS to earn this honor, following Johnnie, who is now finishing his freshman year at Prairie View A&M University.
We’re grateful to continue building with The Links to create opportunities for our Young Brothers to grow, lead, and thrive. It takes a village.
We’re proud of you, Kurstin. More to come.

Building strong money habits starts with knowing where your money is going.
It’s something we talk about a lot at Club FBS, helping our Young Brothers be more intentional with their money early.
This week’s Money Move: Make a simple budget.
Income in. Expense out. Future you.
Even $5 a week toward your future builds the habit.
What's one money move you wished you learned earlier?

As we wrap this week, we’re sharing the story of one of our Club FBS alumni, Jacob.
Jacob came to Club FBS during his senior year at a crossroads. Despite turning things around academically, he had been told college might not be within reach.
With the guidance of his mentors, he shifted his focus to HBCUs, opening a new path forward.
At an HBCU College Fair, he showed up with his resume and transcripts in hand and was accepted into three schools on the spot.
With renewed confidence, more doors opened, and he ultimately chose Jackson State University.
Today, Jacob is finishing his freshman year at JSU as a Computer Engineering major.
At Club FBS, we help our Young Brothers see what’s possible and move differently because of it.
Because sometimes the difference is not ability. It’s belief.

At Club FBS, we meet Young Brothers where they are and equip them with the tools, guidance, and community to move toward their goals.
We’re proud to share that every Club FBS high school graduate is currently attending college, including UC Santa Cruz, Prairie View A&M, Jackson State, and CSU San Marcos.
Not every Young Brother comes to us with perfect grades or plans for college. What they gain is direction, belief, and the confidence to reach their full potential.

It’s April, which means we’re bringing you another book from the Club FBS library.
This month: Kindred by Octavia E. Butler, a striking story about a modern Black woman pulled back into slavery-era America and forced to confront her past to survive.
A must read.

Meet Jaehan. He’s a first-year Young Brother and currently in the 11th grade.
Jaehan has made an immediate impact, showing up with consistency, curiosity, and energy in every session. We’re excited for you to get to know him.
"Jaehan has truly bought into everything Club FBS wants to be. He is inquisitive, energetic, curious, intelligent and creative. His parents push him to participate and engage in all of our activities and sessions and he returns their support by being one of our most consistent Young Brothers. He is destined for great things and has a powerful personal story that makes you want to cheer him on from up close and afar. This is his first year in the program and his impact on the program and his fellow Young Brothers has been immediate and profound."

Over the weekend, Club FBS partnered with Brian Westpoint of Movement Matters Collective for a session of yoga and pilates with our Young Brothers.
More than movement, Brian provided insight into how taking care of ourselves physically impacts our emotional, mental and spiritual health. He engaged our Young Brothers in a holistic approach to physical health and showed them something beyond what they get on their respective sports fields.
Experiences like this are core to what we do. Expanding how our Young Brothers think about health, discipline, and self-care. Grateful to Movement Matters Collective for pouring into our community.
Follow along and support experiences like this for our Young Brothers.

This past weekend, one of our Young Brothers, CJ, showed up and stood out.
He participated in the "Catalyst Youth Initiative: Ignite Change, Own Your Power", joining a cohort of 15 students engaging with lawyers and judges from the National Bar Association.
In a room full of bright young people and accomplished professionals, he made his presence known asking thoughtful questions, offering his own analysis, and demonstrating strong critical thinking.
CJ recently made the Mock Trial team at his school and has a growing interest in law.
We’re proud of how he represented himself, his family, his school, and Club FBS.
Join us in celebrating CJ on his recent accomplishments!

We call them soft skills. But there’s nothing soft about them.
They shape how our Young Brothers think, lead, and show up in the world.
At Club FBS, we focus on developing the full person - the skills needed to thrive and lead in every room.
This is the start of our Young Brother Foundations series, highlighting the character and life skills our Young Brothers are building every day.
First up: Emotional intelligence.
The ability to understand and manage your emotions while being aware of others impacts every area of life. And it’s something too many young men are never taught.
We’re changing that.
What soft skills do you think every young man should learn? Drop them in the comments
