Paying down long-term debt is FREEING.

Sometimes, our habits necessitate taking an extra step - closing a credit card.

"But my credit score!! OMG!!! I've had this credit card since COLLEGE!! My credit score is going to be destroyed!! How will I survive?!!?" 😅

(Maybe opening that card as a 19 year old is what got you in trouble in the first place, but I digress!)

Unless you are financing a car or purchasing a house within the next few months, there is NO REASON to keep open a credit card that has cost you thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars in interest.

That's money that you just GIVE THE CREDITOR for the honor of walking around with a piece of their plastic. Stop the insanity. ❎💳

You can choose your time, your location, and your peace.

This is such a hard concept to grasp and employ, especially when those of us living in the United States are so used to experiencing instant or almost-instant gratification.

For example, how has Amazon changed your life? Ever buy something you didn't need, but because you wanted it, or worse just because you were bored? Ever thought maybe you were addicted? 📦📦📦

Finished with your debt? WOO HOO! 🎉

Start the process of building your Fully-Funded Emergency Fund.

Wise words from James Clear!

A lot of times, people will say, "Do you have more time, or more money right now?" This is not a bad way of determining if a home improvement project should be DIY, or you should call a contractor - if you have more money than time, you should probably employer a contractor.

But RARELY do we take into account what Clear calls "Social Wealth (status)" and "Physical Wealth (health)."

Without your health - to go to work and make money - the other categories fall by the wayside fast.
