The newly-founded WTS Student Chapter at San Diego State University promotes the advancement of women in the transportation industry.
The goal of our chapter is to bridge the gap between academia and working professionals and provide a support system of mentors, advisors, and industry leaders to college students and recent graduates. As the fourth official WTS Student Chapter, our chapter has the goal of establishing a college based student community focusing on advancing women in transportation through professional workshops, n
etworking, and community service. Additionally, the chapter will facilitate leadership training events, provide resume building/interview workshops, and invite distinguished speakers from the transportation industry to provide supplemental education about the professional practice of the transportation industry to student members. The WTS SDSU student chapter connects students with local industry experts to build and refine networking and leadership skills, foster professional development, and learn about scholarship opportunities. These students diversify the WTS San Diego membership and create future WTS members, committee chairs, and leaders. Our goal is to prepare young transportation professionals for excellence in their future careers.
