We're honored to receive the City of San Diego's proclamation of May 12th as San Diego Youth Symphony Day - just in time to commemorate our 80th anniversary! Special thanks to Councilmember Stephen Whitburn (District 3) and City Attorney Heather Ferbert for additional support during the council session.

Executive Director Kate Battenfeld, Artistic Director Sameer Patel, and Board President Bruce Kornfeld appeared at city hall yesterday to accept the proclamation and meet the councilmembers.

The City of San Diego has been instrumental in providing quality music education to our community for the past eighty years. With their continued support, we look forward to eighty more and beyond!

🎶 Each week, we're going to be highlighting the steps needed to enroll in our program.

✔️ Step 4: Record your audition videos. Follow the checklist below to make sure your audition looks and sounds great!

✅ Place the camera 6-10 feet away from you, and make sure that both of your hands, your full face, and your full instrument are seen in the video.

✅ Record one video per required element. For example, record one video for your solo, a second video for your excerpts, and a third video for your scales.
