✈️ 🌎Interested in gaining professional experience in another country? Join SDSU’s International Internship Advising Workshop on August 19 from 3–4 p.m. to learn how you can turn an international internship into a reality. Attendance is required for students planning to pursue an internship abroad.

You’ll learn about the available opportunities, how to get started, and what to expect throughout the process.

SDSU Civil and Environmental Engineering students participated in a study abroad program in Oaxaca, Mexico this summer, where they learned about pre-Hispanic water systems, toured a geotechnical engineering laboratory and a wastewater treatment plant, and worked together with students from Universidad de La Salle on a design project.

The students completed two courses toward their degree programs during the summer session. This program will be offered again during the summer of 2027. For more information, please contact the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering!

The Sheriff's Office Facilities Unit is hiring two student workers to assist with construction management projects, including a new patrol station and detention facility.

Details:
• Preferred major: Construction Management
• Pay: $16.90–19.79/hour
• Approximately 20 hours/week preferred
• Minimum six-month commitment

• Preferred majors: Civil, Construction, or Environmental Engineering

• Gain experience in project coordination, field operations, construction administration, and working with project stakeholders.

Congratulations to Professor Karen May-Newman on receiving the 2026 Pushpa and Kewal Gupta Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO).

For more than two decades, her research has advanced the understanding of heart-support technologies and improved the future of care for patients living with heart failure. Her work continues to demonstrate how engineering can drive innovation in medicine.
