Honored to welcome the ATDLE Board Members to San Diego Unified School District as they visited our incredible dual language schools today! A heartfelt thank you to Sherman Elementary School, Language Academy, and Patrick Henry High School for graciously hosting and showcasing the power of bilingualism, biliteracy, and multicultural education in action. What an inspiring morning at the Newcomer Student Leadership Conference Over 100 students and family members came together to learn, connect, and celebrate the strength and brilliance of our newcomer community.
Families engaged in workshops, explored community resources, and built connections that support student success and belonging. We were also honored to have a warm welcome from Superintendent Fabiola Bagula who reminded students that their languages, cultures, and experiences are powerful assets.

🦁 San Diego Zoo This time, we had a truly large group - 130 people came together. A special thank you to @sandiegounified for the initiative and for organizing this day for our community 🩷 We did our best to invite as many families as possible and it means a lot to see how much these gatherings resonate and how important they are. We’re glad we were able to bring this group together and spend this day as a community.
